Review: The A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Time Zone in Platinum
In 2020, after 15 years of production and many variations, the Lange 1 Time Zone received a highly anticipated update. It was introduced in three different versions: cases crafted from yellow gold (limited to 100), pink gold, and white gold, with champagne, argente and black dials, respectively. This new model came with a fresh calibre and featured a more organised and streamlined indication layout while retaining its fundamental design elements. This summer, A. Lange & Sohne introduced a platinum Lange 1 Time Zone version with a rhodium-coloured dial, prompting us to conduct a thorough review of what has to be called the traveller's stealth.BackgroundIn October next year, A. Lange & Sohne will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original Lange 1 watch’s introduction to the public (24 October 1994). In a concise span, this stunning timepiece became an instantly recognisable and coveted item, essentially becoming the face of A. Lange & Sohne and lending its name to a

The Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Meisterstuck 100 Years
Montblanc celebrates the 100th anniversary of the iconic Meisterstuck - a fine writing instrument synonymous with the brand. Interestingly, initially, the cigar-shaped pen with the handcrafted nib was created by Montblanc artisans exclusively for their use before being made available to the public in 1924. To mark the milestone, Montblanc released a special edition of the Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Meisterstuck 100 Years, incorporating design elements inspired by the iconic Meisterstuck fountain pen; we share our impressions after a hands-on experience.Founded in 1906, Montblanc gained widespread recognition as a maker of fountain pens before expanding its offerings to include luxury leather goods, perfumes, and, since 1997, watches. Popular at the time jokes about Montblanc watches needing ink to run, quickly gave way to appreciation of how fast the brand mastered the watchmaking craft. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Hands-On With The New Certina DS-2 Chronograph Automatic
There's nothing like a good story to boost a watch's appeal. The latest DS-2 Chronograph Automatic is a descendant of a famous Certina Chronolympic model that reached the summit and descended Mt Everest in 1970 on the wrist of Japanese daredevil Yuichiro Miura as he skied down the slopes at breakneck speed. Picking up on retro 1970s design cues, the new DS-2 Chronograph flaunts a funky tonneau-shaped case, a bicompax chronograph layout and an upgraded Valjoux-based automatic movement with a silicon hairspring and an increased power reserve.Following the DS-1 of 1959 with its robust Double Security (DS) shock, dust and 200m water-resistant case, the Certina DS-2 of 1968 combined resilience with various complications, including chronographs, and captured the design mood of the day with its tonneau-shaped steel case. The DS-2 Chronolympic was a line of chronographs introduced in the late 1960s with high-grade manual movements. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Studio Underd0g Takes To The Field With Its New 02 Series
The press release for the Studio Underd0g 02 Series field watch collection starts with the question of why horology can’t be a little bit more playful from time to time. It’s the exact question I ask myself every now and then and the reason I have a soft spot for quirky, oddball watches. Watches with a twist, a little surprise or even a good dose of humour. I immediately think of the funky Tissot Sideral or the colourful Club Campus by Nomos, or even the Endeavour QP Tutorial by H. Moser & Cie. Watches with a personality that puts a smile on your face every single time you gaze down to check the time. Studio Underd0g’s answer to this question is its fruity chronograph, such as the Strawberries & Cream. Now though, the British watchmaking outfit presents a completely new collection, called the 02 Series. And I can already tell you right now, it’s still all about having fun!Studio Underd0g looks to the past for inspiration for its new 02 Series, and the li
