Video Review Green IWC Portugieser Automatic & Perpetual Calendar
Green is everywhere. There is no escaping the trend, which has been seen in all kinds of watches, in all categories, and all price ranges. Green is the new blue, which was the new black, and maybe purple will be the new green? IWC is no stranger to the colour green. The brand has shown great creativity when applying this colour to different types of watches, such as the bold, monochromatic Woodland green ceramic models. With a drastically different approach to the colour, IWC has released a new pair of green-toned Portugiesers, and we were curious to see them in the metal. And here they are in our latest video review.?Green is undoubtedly one of the main trends in the watch industry today. Or maybe, green is simply becoming a new classic in collections, next to black, silver or blue watches… Time will tell. And admittedly, when it’s done right, green can be cool. IWC is no stranger to the colour green, pushing the concept as far as possible with a full-green watch – c
Omega Seamaster Diver 300m "Commander's Watch" Limited Edition James Bond 007
The James Bond 007 and Omega Watches connection really doesn’t require?another explanation – although?if you do need to know more about it, check our in-depth article. For more than?20 years, the Swiss watchmaker has supplied?the world’s most famous secret agent with his Seamaster watches, and managed to give?this accessory an important status, becoming a movie character in?its own right. This year, inspired by Bond’s rank and regalia, Omega?has created the Seamaster Diver 300m?Commander's Watch. Background – The Omega / 007 connectionBack in 1995, with GoldenEye, James Bond made a strong comeback on cinema screens worldwide, giving the series a fresh start. Starring?in the movie as Bond was Pierce Brosnan, and on his wrist was a watch that would become a modern icon, the Seamaster Diver 300m. The combination of its blue dial and bezel, its toolish style and distinctive bracelet created a watch which was instantly recognizable by the masses. More than just
Tudor 2014 News - Or What Would Love To See At Baselworld 2014 - Monochrome Watches
A few days ago, we gave you our thoughts on what could be ’ offering of novelties at the upcoming Baselworld fair. Tudor, having been in the shadow of big brother for some decades, have been working on a rather successful come-back in the past years. While doesn’t dwell on the past, Tudor on the other hand did do that and resurrected brilliantly by using their past. And like its big brother, they guard their secrets and the only way to for us to get a glimpse of their future is to dream up our desired 2014 Tudor novelties. As said, Tudor has quite a crush on vintage, their own vintage models that is. And we join them in having a crush on Tudor models of yesteryear. Like the old Submariner Snowflake, the Sub Big Crown, and the Big Block chronograph. These models found their way into the current collection, as Tudor introduced quite a few vintage-inspired models in the past years. Just think of the Heritage Chrono (inspired by the Monte-Carlo), the Black Bay (inspired by
First Look: The Hot Pink Oris ProPilot X Miss Piggy Edition
The English phrase pigs might fly is used to express the impossibility of something happening. Well, Oris has just given wings to one of the most famous pigs in popular culture with its new ProPilot X Miss Piggy. Combining the sharp looks of the ProPilot X Collection in a reduced 34mm steel case with a hot pink dial, the new watch would have provoked a rush of compliments (in French) from Miss Piggy, the fabulous diva from The Muppet Show. Following the green ProPilot X Kermit Edition, this second collaboration with The Muppets will delight fans of Jim Henson's larger-than-life pig in a platinum wig – or create a bit of a storm for more conservative members of the watch community.?A somewhat surprising model to honour the glamorous Muppet character, Oris has chosen its ProPilot X case, the brand's edgiest and most contemporary model. While the brand is renowned for its historical aviation classics like the Big Crown Pointer Date, the 44mm ProPilot X of 2019 was envisioned as a ne
Rebirth: Carl Suchy & Sohne Walz 1 - Hands-on with Photos, Specs and Price - Monochrome Watches
It's an age-old recipe; a name from the past to cement your future. A watch company goes bust due to some crisis, lays dormant for a good number of years, and is eventually resurrected with passion and a large sum of money. Most?never make it past the drawing board, some actually make it to prototyping and a few eventually produce actual watches. We've seen this with high-end brands like Ferdinand Berthoud?and?Czapek, or in lower price-brackets with Lebois & Co for instance, all being built on foundations of yesteryear. The latest resurrection to join the party is Carl Suchy & Sohne, and today we're introducing you to the Carl Suchy & Sohne Waltz N¡ã1. Carl Suchy & Sohne clock factory in Prague, then part of the Austrian Empire Carl Suchy & Sohne workshop in Vienna, opened in 1863 by Carl Suchy’s second son The history of Carl Suchy & Sohne goes back to the Austrian-Hungarian empire, now almost 200 years ago.
