The Royal Oak… A watch that needs no introduction anymore, a watch that’s so iconic that its popularity goes way beyond the confines of watch aficionados. However, if you look at Audemars Piguet’s catalogue, you’ll see that the collection is large (to say the least) and that it comprises dozens of versions. In short, it is the perfect time of the year to suit up. And that means having the right watch to match your fancy attire, pairing it with your cocktail dress or tuxedo. And yes, the classic dress watch, as we’ve come to know it for many years, has changed, becoming more daring, less formal and more colourful. But that doesn’t change the fact that once again in 2024, we have seen the release of supremely elegant watches. Here are our top 5 Dress Watches of the year.?Chopard L.U.C XPS Forest Green in Lucent SteelSeeing a Chopard L.U.C. making this list shouldn’t be a surprise. Montblanc TimeWalker Cappuccino Limited Editions for Goodwood (Specs & Price)
A few days ago,?the?Goodwood Festival of Speed (GFOS) took place in the UK for the 25th time in its history. As the official timekeeper of the (superb) event for the second year, Montblanc was, of course, present to celebrate the world of cars. However, that’s not all, as a pair of vintage-oriented, cappuccino-coloured Limited Editions of MB’s racing-oriented watch was also introduced. Meet the new?Montblanc TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph and Date Automatic Cappuccino Limited Editions.?Goodwood Festival of Speed x MontblancThe Goodwood Festival of Speed (GFOS) x Montblanc link was born just after the creation of the brand’s new sports watch, the revised TimeWalker, a watch with true racing/motorsport inspiration. Since 2017, Montblanc is the official timekeeper of the event – as reported in our article here (with tons of nice cars to see too). But what is GFOS exactly? Back in the early 1980s, Charles Gordon-Lennox, known in the automotive world as Lord Marc
Hands-On - Montblanc 4810 TwinFly Chronograph 110 Years Edition (live pics, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
This year, Montblanc has again been highly productive – and that’s a fact you’ll have to get used to, believe us. They introduced superb watches, including the ExoTourbillon Slim or the?TimeWalker ExoTourbillon Minute Chronograph, both part of the 4810 collection. They also introduced a more traditional watch, a regular chronograph, the?4810 Chronograph. That was not all… Based on a concept launched in 2012, the TwinFly, Montblanc integrates this great movement also in the 4810 collection, with the?Montblanc 4810 TwinFly Chronograph 110 Years Edition. Dual Time, 24-hour indication and twin flyback function, in an elegant watch… Not the worst combination. In 1906, 3 German pioneers?developed a writing instrument with non-leaking technology and a piston convertor. it was the start of a success story, which actually never ended. However, no one would have expect, at that time, that 110 years later the brand named Montblanc would have been one of the main actor
Tissot Heritage 1973 Chronograph Limited Edition - Introducing (Specs & Price)
Tissot has solid ties with racing. Swiss driver Loris Kessel wore a Navigator chronograph in the 1970s and was officially sponsored by Tissot in the 1976 Formula 1 Grand Prix. The brand is once again working with Kessel Racing, this time with Ronnie Kessel (son of Loris) to launch the limited edition Heritage 1973. The watch has been updated a bit with contemporary touches but maintains many retro elements that made the original Navigator such a compelling piece. A larger case, updated dial and sapphire crystal mark the major differences, and while not technically a reissue, it's a nice throwback to the 1973 classic. Let's take a closer look. The 316L stainless steel case has a satin-brushed finish with polished bevels – typical of the era – with a diameter of 43mm and height of 14.8mm. The cushion case is nearly identical in shape to the smaller 39mm Navigator with a slightly larger crown and pushers. A domed sapphire crystal replaces the Navigator's acrylic and a mineral g
