Horological Cyber-Warfare: Swiss Brands Targeting Piracy-Dials for Smartwatches - Monochrome Watches
Downloading movies and music without paying is illegal, and if you are caught you can be prosecuted for it. Download a Milgauss face for your gizmo? Hold on just a second! You could be next in line for the Swiss industry giants to take down a peg or two. Brands like Omega, Panerai, Mondaine and IWC are taking action against the latest phase of horo-theft: smartwatch-piracy.The global watch industry is an unusually large platform for piracy, as you probably all know. Hundreds of sites selling Bolex, Braitlin, EyeWC or Ublow have been taken down in the past, but they seem to surface again and again. Even more worrying, people are even rebadging a Cartier Rotonde to something called a Reef Tiger and try to pass it on as original designs, complete with a blue cabochon on the crown. And now we can add copyright infringing digital watch faces to the mix. Ad - Scroll to continue with article

Hands-On - 2022 TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 in 40mm
Last year TAG Heuer revamped the well-known Aquaracer Professional range, the brand's long-standing dive watch collection. It featured an updated, more refined look that was in line with the collection's lineage that started with the 2000-series in the early 1980s. The DNA is especially apparent in the overall shape of the case, which is retained albeit updated in the latest collection. New for 2022 is the addition of a slightly less beefy and bulky diver, and we've already gotten our hands on it prior to the LVMH Watch Week. Here's the new 40mm TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200.The origins of the Aquaracer collection can be traced back to the early 1980s when TAG Heuer presented the 2000-series of watches. This series of dive and chronograph watches lasted until 2005, a year after TAG Heuer used the Aquaracer moniker for the first time. Since then, it has been a stable part of the brand's portfolio. When they were released last year, in the midst of the pandemic, the Oris Divers ve Cotton Candy watches not only came as a surprise, but they also brought a spirit of lightheartedness and fun colours to people yearning to see the end of the pandemic. The timing was just right, and these unconventional pink, light blue and green bronze models became surprisingly successful. This year, the Ho?lstein-based brand expands the Cotton Candy collection with an even more relaxed style by adding Perlon straps to the portfolio.? Once again, these watches have a strong visual impact. And indeed, some won’t understand their very existence. No worries, these aren’t made to be mainstream, and you still have the option to get a black or dark blue dial for your steel Divers Sixty-Five. Yet colours are certainly on the rise, with many recent introductions in green, red, pink or even purple. So Oris surfs on the wave of bright colours and brings back this much-talked-a
