Omega Seamaster Diver 300M "James Bond" Numbered Edition
About a year ago, Omega revealed its first watch dedicated to the upcoming James Bond 007 movie No Time to Die. This model, inspired by the secret agent but not worn in the movie, has been followed by the actual film watch, a titanium Seamaster Diver 300M that we reviewed here. And even though the movie has been delayed for obvious reasons, the Biel-based brand still plays on the 007 theme and today introduces a luxurious, numbered edition of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M “James Bond”.Visually, this new edition does not apparently feature many differences. Same case shape, same spiral-inspired dial, same allusions to Bond… Yet, there is more than meets the eye and this new version is all about high-end materials. The case retains the classic Seamaster Diver 300M shape, with a 42mm diameter, its signature helium escape valve at 10 o’clock and the typically Omega twisted lugs. Yet, it is now made of platinum-gold, which is brushed and polished. It also features a
Introducing: IWC Pilot Performance Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month
With its long-winded name, IWC's new watch can best be described as the more complex brother of a Performance Chronograph released in 2023 for four-wheeled pilots. Equipped with the brand's innovative perpetual calendar movement and its uncommon digital display, the Performance Chronograph IW388801 comes with a dashing black and golden colour scheme.Presented in 2023, IWC's Pilot's Watch Performance Chronograph 41 is a racing chronograph with a tachymeter scale on its bezel, the racetrack alternative to IWC's well-stocked portfolio of pilot's chronographs powered by the same in-house automatic chronograph movement: calibre 69385. Inspired by the displays of IWC's Pallweber pocket watches from the 1880s with
Oris Big Crown ProPilot Worldtimer, With Clever Bezel-Actuated Dual-Time Function (Hands-On with Price)
Over the past few years, Oris have wowed us with several practical, innovative timepieces that harness a utilitarian look, feel and features, with competitive prices. Think about the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter for instance: a highly practical watch with a hard to ignore bang-for-buck attitude, or the 2013 Oris Aquis Depth Gauge, a simple yet clever development. Today, there is a new kid in town, with yet another cool innovative element (even if its name tends to indicate a different type of watch). It is the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Worldtimer, and it is a very intuitive GMT watch.Oris is well-known for being mechanically creative, whilst remaining true to their DNA, which stands for well built, competitively priced and cleverly conceived watches for various uses. Whether we take a look at their dive watches, pilot watches or even the more fancier watches with the in-house Oris Calibre movement, each watch has a distinct feature not often found in other brands operating in the sa
Hands-on with the New Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial (LIVE Photos and Pricing) - Monochrome Watches
Before Baselworld 2014, we played with the teaser photos and video that Omega released prior to the official launch during the fair, and we showed you the important details first here. When the fair started, we finally got to see and handle Omega’s modern interpretation of a classic. We go hands-on with the new Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial with the new anti-magnetic movement. In 1957 Omega introduced the Seamaster 300 that became one of the world’s most iconic dive watches. Highly sought after and unfortunately also highly “messed with”; it’s very difficult to find one that is still in original condition and that is not equipped with all kind of after market parts. With the introduction of the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial, Omega has the solution for those who love the looks of the vintage Seamaster 300, however prefer to buy one without risk and that is in perfect condition to be used to depths up to 300 meters. In-Depth - Commemorating 40 Years of Watchmaking by Svend Andersen
Svend Andersen needs no introduction to many enthusiasts and collectors. He's the man that is responsible for (now over) forty years of highly creative watchmaking stemming from Geneva. What Svend Andersen does is a unique and eclectic mix of original and inventive watchmaking, often mixed with playful themes and unconventional designs, all made to order for clients. Celebrating his 40th-anniversary last year, we take a closer look at the Jumping Hour watch, his latest creation and one that almost took home top honours in the Artistic Crafts category at last year's Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve.Svend Andersen at work – photo by watchesbysjx.comSvend Andersen operates under the name Andersen Geneve, but considering the man is basically the brand, we stick to referring to Svend Andersen. In all his watchmaking career, Svend has amassed quite the set of skills, from early on already. The early days; from Denmark to SwitzerlandFresh out of school, with a watchmaking degree under h
