Buying Guide: Some Of The Best Collaboration Watches Recently Launched
“Put two creative people in a room, and watch the magic happen.” While it might not exactly work like that, a joint project between two designers, artists or brands can lead to wonderful new things. It happens in art, it happens in fashion, and as you’ve guessed it, it happens in watchmaking. Over the years, the ‘collaboration game‘ has spawned some incredibly cool creations, often bringing two cultures together in one single watch. Even though it’s not a guaranteed recipe for success, these five recently introduced collaboration watches have a lot going for themselves!Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer for time+tideThis Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer is the second collaboration between Zenith and Australian watch publication Time+Tide. The striking-looking watch has a micro-blasted titanium case and an openworked movement. The blued top bridge is combined with applied indices, hands and accents in white Super-LumiNova. Inside, the El Prim
What's new in the 2016 Tudor Heritage Black Bay 79230 with manufacture movement? (hands-on, live photos, specs, price) - Monochrome Watches
As the world of watches is now fairly driven by the internet, you certainly didn’t miss the novelties that?Tudor Watches had for this year 2016. The star of the show was definitely the bronze edition of the Black Bay, followed by a second edition, this time coated with a black PVD treatment, the Black Bay Dark. Both of them are equipped with something Tudor was proud to introduce to the world last year, their first in-house movement – and that’s not a detail, knowing the history of the brand. Alongside these two proper novelties, Tudor Watches also used Baselworld to introduce?an evolution of its?its best-seller, the?normal Heritage Black Bay.?What’s new in the 2016 Tudor Heritage Black Bay 79230 and what are the benefits for you, end customers? The old?Tudor Heritage Black Bay 79220, pre-Baselworld 2016 – now discontinued Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Ulysse Nardin Classico Paul David Nardin - Hands-On Review (Specs & Price)
This year, Ulysse Nardin is on a tear… After the impressive collection launched at the SIHH 2017, which showed more modern and refined designs, yet still “very Ulysse” in the style, we now have a succession of several rather surprising watches, all with a vintage-inspired theme. After the Diver Le Locle, a dive watch inspired by a 1960s timepiece, here is the?Ulysse Nardin Classico Paul David Nardin, this time taking inspiration from?a 1945 watch. And once again, the look is just superb. As with the Diver Le Locle, we have once again been surprised by?the?Classico Paul David Nardin… for a simple reason: vintage-oriented pieces are not typically?something the brand does. Of course, we all know about the foundations of Ulysse Nardin and the immense contribution it made to?marine chronometers, a rich heritage that?can still be seen today?in current collections and that is deeply integrated?in the DNA of the brand. However, when it comes to using the traditional code
Hands-On - TAG Heuer Monaco 1979-1989 Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Red Dial CAW211W.FC6467 (Specs & Price)
There’s no need to remind you that this year marks the 50th anniversary of multiple milestones for the watch industry – including the Moon landing and the first automatic chronographs – but also the launch of one of the most iconic racing chronographs, the Heuer Monaco. Fifty years ago, this square-shaped watch, with one of the earliest self-winding chrono movements inside (Calibre 11) hit the market. To celebrate fifty years of Monaco, TAG Heuer has prepared several highly exclusive watches, and the second one we present today, the Monaco 1979-1989 Limited Edition, plays on a?red-hot racing theme.50 years of an iconThe Heuer Monaco was presented in 1969. Back then, it was one impressively modern watch, for two reasons. First, the square shape of its case was bold, unprecedented and was matched with an equally bold, brushed blue dial. Second, inside the case was Calibre 11; a movement known as the Chrono-Matic, which was the result of a joint-venture uniting Heuer, Br
First Look: The New Longines Legend Diver 39mm No-Date
Whenever a watchmaking brand has an icon in the books, it tends to protect it with great care and introduce new colours and small technical updates to keep things fresh. Such is the case with the, dare we say it, legendary Longines Legend Diver. A watch modelled after an important diver from the late 1950s, and now a true cornerstone model in the brand’s portfolio. And we’re quite happy with the way Longines has taken a more creative route in recent years, playing around with gradient dials and different materials. One thing was very much missing, though, which finally sees the light of day: a slightly more compact version, filling the gap between the rather large 42mm version and the feminine 36mm models. The Longines Legend Diver, regardless if we’re talking about the time-and-date or, more importantly, the no-date version, has always been a fairly large watch on the wrist. Not anymore, as we can finally share with you the brand new, largely revised Longines Legend
