How many watches have you seen with a beige dial? Not many, is that correct? Evolved over a passage of time, the Vintage BR V2-92 Military Beige Men's Watch by Bell & Ross has a pretty pale beige dial framed matte black. If you look closely at the surface, the crystal has a domed surface. What makes it even better is that the bracelet has a folding buckle!

Fugue Chronostase, Making a Case for Modularity - Monochrome Watches
Modularity has become a big thing in the watch industry, with more and more embracing the concept of customisation (at least for some very high-end brands) and interchangeable strap/bracelet system – think Vacheron Constantin, Maurice Lacroix or Cartier. Yet, in the end, you have the same watch on a different strap. Certainly a nice first step and a good idea, but some thought they could go several steps further in this field of modularity. Meet Fugue Watch and the?Chronostase, an accessible microbrand that allows you to change the strap AND the case of your watch in less than a minute.A singular approach to modularityIn today’s context, modularity and the ability to customize your belongings have become more than a trend. For years, the car industry allowed ordering your car with a fully personalized configuration. However, the watchmaking industry is always a bit slow to embrace trends. It is only recently that we’ve seen mainstream brands offer easy-change systems
Comparing the old and new IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar - Monochrome-Watches
We at Monochrome obviously love IWC watches. Especially when it comes to their iconic pieces. The IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar is such a piece. First introduced in 2003, this watch has been subject to minor changes every couple of years, without dramatically changing its recognizable identity. So, it's now time for us to compare the brand new 2015 edition with the previous version, and to see what changes can been seen – or maybe be unseen?Throwback - The Perpetual Calendar by IWC WatchesIWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Limited Edition in stainless steelHow did the perpetual calendar by IWC get its iconic status? When you are trying to understand why a watch gained so much fame, you have to understand its historical importance. In the case of the IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar, this importance was not actually gained by a Portuguese watch, but rather by the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar, a watch that rather shocked the industry. This Da Vinci Ref. 3570 was first introduced
Throwback Thursday With The Longines Conquest Heritage 1954-2014 Limited Editions - Monochrome Watches
Exactly 60 years ago, on April 3rd 1954, Longines filed for patent for its Conquest collection and name. To celebrate the 60th anniversary, Longines has launched the Conquest Heritage 1954-2014, a limited edition in steel, rose gold or yellow gold. And just like the original versions, the case back of these commemorative pieces is decorated with a gold and enamel medallion, the “gold seal of Longines quality”.These are however a very special commemorative watches, as they not only look exactly the same as the first Conquest that was introduced some 60 years ago, but it is also made in exactly the same size. With a diameter of 35 mm it harks back to the beginning of this collection, and an era when men wore watches that are now-a-days considered to be small. We here at Monochrome Watches applaud this and wouldn’t mind of more brands introduce classic, elegant dress watches that are smaller than 40 mm. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Montblanc Heritage Chronometrie Collection 2018 (Specs & Price)
When Jerome Lambert took over Montblanc, the idea was simple: offer a lot of product for less money. This didn’t mean that all the watches had to be affordable, but rather that watches – including ones with solid horological credentials – were lower priced than expected. This gave birth to a Sub-10k Perpetual Calendar, the?4810 ExoTourbillon Slim or a Sub-7k annual calendar. Following the same idea, Montblanc introduces three new watches in the?Heritage Chronometrie collection, still complex but with new, contemporary design codes. All three watches – the?Montblanc Heritage Chronometrie Perpetual Calendar Sapphire, the?Montblanc Heritage Chronometrie Exo Tourbillon Slim Openworked and the?Montblanc Heritage Chronometrie Exo Tourbillon Slim – share the same concept: a new, refined and slim 40mm case,?redesigned dials with contemporary aesthetics and a new colour scheme as well as openworked movements with graphic, 3-dimensional?construction and sapphire crys
Parmigiani Fleurier Tecnica Ombre Noir (Specs & Price)
Three of the most revered complications in Haute Horlogerie - minute repeater, tourbillon and perpetual calendar - are united in this exceptional timepiece, a unique Parmigiani Fleurier piece that retails for just under half a million Swiss Francs. The Tecnica Ombre Noire comes in a 45mm rose gold case with a splendid hand-guilloche dial. The combination of the gleaming rose gold case and the dark handsome dial is stunning, but the watch is not entirely new. In 2014, Parmigiani Fleurier launched a limited edition of five Tecnica Ombre Blanche watches – without the sumptuous guilloche dial.? The perpetual calendar functions are neatly arranged in three interconnected sub-dials with a fourth dial devoted to the one-minute tourbillon. But wait a minute, where is the slider to activate the minute repeater? Read on to find out more about this exceptional masterpiece. From the Toric to the TecnicaThe Toric holds a special place in Michel Parmigiani's heart; it was his first watch. Unvei
