Luxury Watches |
Bell & Ross surely knows how to add class and charisma to a metallic watch. This BRV294-BU-G-ST/SST has a classy blue sunray dial with an array of Superluminova coated hands and indices. The blue bezel adds a touch of sophistication to the watch, making its silver case look more attractive. The watch has a 30 minute timer at 9 o'clock and a circular date window. The gilt applique indices and numerals are another attraction with their royal appearance.

Weekly Watch Photo - The Eadweard Muybridge Cinema Watch by Konstantin Chaykin - Monochrome Watches
Just the other day we bumped into the brilliant photo of Konstantin Chaykin’s Cinema Watch. When we told you about this watch before (click here) we told you our first impression was that it had of the shape and layout of a medium-format camera. So what better photo to start our Weekly Watch Photo with.Of course we already told you more about the Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin. Our man in Shanghai, Mario?Squillacioti, met up with Konstatin during the AHCI event in his home town and sat down for a good talk. The result is a great overview of Konstantin’s creations (click here). And of course we told you about the Cartier Rotonde Mystery Watch that is so similar to Chaykin’s Levitas that he introduced a year earlier (click here). Oris unveils the Aquis Depth Gauge - Monochrome Watches
Oris just unveiled something remarkable, a mechanical dive watch?with depth gauge for a retail price of just € 2.600 Euro! Compared to the few other mechanical watches with a depth gauge, this is spectacular.I must admit that Oris didn’t?get much attention here at Monochrome. That is because we usually focus on much more high-end timepieces. I say usually, because?when there’s something?very special to share with you, that’s exactly what I do. And the new Oris Aquis Depth Gauge is exactly that, very special! Ad - Scroll to continue with article Oris is well-known for making very friendly priced diving watches, something they have been doing for quite some time now. Oris uses reliable ETA movements and will take care for the reliable, rugged case and bracelet themselves. Maybe no Haute Horlogerie, but definitely a great bang for the buck!In thei
In Conversation with Indie Czech Watchmaker Ondrej Berkus
This isn't one of my usual articles in The Collector's Corner. For my first time talking with self-taught Czech watchmaking wizard Ond?ej Berkus (@hodinkyberkus), I wanted a format more intimate than a Q&A (for a look at how well a Q&A can be done, check out Ond?ej's interview with Watch Affinity here). I didn't want to write about how Ond?ej got into watches or about his watchmaking philosophy – I wanted to get to know the man and what drives him. I hope I am able to convey some of the wonders I felt when I spoke with him, and I also hope you enjoy the ride!Special thanks to @jirivratislav for supplying the photos for this article.?Off to CzechiaI look at the windows of the train as we cross the Austrian border to Czechia. It's a dreary day – a thick and oppressive cloud cover hangs in the sky and sheets of rain pour down. It's a flat country out here, a welcome respite from the mountains further west in Austria that seem to glower at you and crowd you in as you dr
The Collectors Series - Diver Marco Thier and his possibly unique Golden Doxa Sub 300 - Monochrome Watches
I love divers watches and I have a special place in my heart for Doxa. Therefore, sooner or later, it was?inevitable to meet with Marco. Recently, I received an email from Frank, referring enthusiastically to his meeting with a great guy and collector, who had a few special dive watches and was interested to present them through Monochrome. When the ‘codename’ Doxa came into the conversation, I was intrigued. I am, after all, a big fan?of the Doxa Sub. We worked together with Marco for the presentation of his extremely rare and game changing Doxa HRV prototype and I learned a lot. I redefined what I had in my mind about the history of divers watches and loved Doxa even more.?Here, it’s with great pleasure that I share the interview of this fine gentleman, as part of the Collector’s Series. First and foremost, Marco Thier is a watch guy and a diver. And?for me, it makes him uber-cool. He is a graphic designer specializing in brand concepts, packaging and interfac
Introducing the Richard Mille RM 011 Red TPT Quartz Automatic Flyback Chronograph
You've certainly noticed immediately that Richard Mille latest creation is red. Obviously (Except if you are color blind, and we're profoundly sorry for you). However, your eyes have probably spotted?something else; the?juxtaposition of the words Quart and Automatic. Wait, is that at all possible? Is RM going to lower that many their watches and to have quartz movements? We know the market to be quite difficult these days, but come on! Ok, that was just a fear, as the new?Richard Mille RM 011 Red TPT Quartz Automatic Flyback Chronograph is a true (and very bold) Haute Horlogerie piece, with a real mechanical movement but with a case mixing carbon fiber and layers of red quartz (the material, not the watch technology). Explanations. As we always tend to say, a bit of humor never hurts. However, the watch in question here and the material used to create its case are far, very far from being a joke. It’s even quite a serious deployment of technology to create the case of the?Richard
