The Collector's Series - Lung Lung and Her A. Lange & Sohne Datograph
Hong Kong-based watch enthusiast Lung Lung Thun (32) also known as @lunglungthun is one of the regular contributors to our Collector's Series, with her vast collection of beautiful watches. We've already discussed with her the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Carolina Bucci. And today, it's one of our all-time favourite watches that will be the centre of attention. Once again, we're very pleased to see such a watch worn by a seasoned female collection, showing that beautiful watches have no gender. In this instalment of the Collector's Series, all eyes are on her A.Lange & Sohne Datograph in Rose Gold, the early reference 403.031 – the non Up/Down, smaller edition with Roman numerals.Frank Geelen – MONOCHROME – What is it you admire in A. Lange & Sohne?Lung Lung Thun – The craftsmanship is second to none in my opinion. The movement, design, and finishing is so incredibly well done, I still find it astonishing that the brand hasn't gained as much tr

Baselworld 2019 - MeisterSinger Bronze Editions No. 03, Perigraph and Metris (Specs & Price)
MeisterSinger specializes in unique, single-hand watches and its entire portfolio reflects that - none have a minute or seconds hand (well, there's this one). Most of its cases have been stainless steel thus far, with a cool Black Line edition of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated cases providing an edgier, sportier look. Bronze has been an increasingly popular case material with brands like Bell & Ross, IWC and Montblanc jumping onboard, and MeisterSinger itself has dabbled in bronze with the limited Perigraph Bronze. The German brand is now expanding on this with three new bronze editions of its most successful models - the No. 03, Perigraph and Metris. Bronze has long been favoured for nautical and scientific instruments due to its resilience and resistance to corrosion. It does form a patina over time, however, making each piece unique with an antique(ish) quality as they age.The No. 03 watches are part of MeisterSinger's Classic line, having either no date or a circular date win
Pre-SIHH: Introducing the Richard Mille RM 33-01 Automatic - Monochrome-Watches
The ballet of the SIHH (the Geneva watch fair) novelties just began. One of the first to come with a new timepiece is?Richard Mille, a brand that we do love here at Monochrome-Watches for its exclusivity:?unusual design and spirit, exclusive materials, astonishing finishing, distinctive complications and innovations. If most of the watches made by Richard Mille are highly?masculine, with a strong design, the brand also knows how to create more reasonable (by RM standards of course) watches. And that’s what?the new Richard Mille RM 33-01 Automatic is, a round, thin watch with a less sporty?approach.Don’t be fooled by our?introduction. When we say that the?Richard Mille RM 33-01 Automatic is reasonable, we have to keep in mind that we are talking about a RM. Don’t imagine that the movement is simple or less finished. Of course, it is not as crazy as a?Richard Mille RM 022 Aerodyne Dual Time Zone – with its dial and movement’s plates made of carbon nanotubes
Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Chronograph - Review, Price
Who would have predicted that the trend for vintage watches would become a consolidated sector of practically every watch brand with a history of more than 100 years? What started as a nostalgic trip down memory lane has entrenched itself as an enduring phenomenon. Dedicated collections are now the repositories of golden oldies, some more faithful to their ancestors than others, but all picking up the essential design language of watches made during the last century. Montblanc is no exception, and its 1858 collection is where you'll find chronographs and monopusher chronographs inspired by models made by Minerva in the 1920s and 1930s. Released earlier this year along with a limited edition bronze version, this attractive Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Chronograph in steel proves that you can enjoy a retro Minerva-inspired monopusher without breaking the bank.1858 CollectionMontblanc's 1858 collection was created in 2018, is named after the year the Minerva manufacture was founded, and take
