Introducing: 4 new A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Limited Editions for its 30th-Anniversary
Exactly 30 years ago, on 24 October 1994, at the Dresden Royal Palace, Gunter Blumlein, Walter Lange and Hartmut Knothe unveiled the inaugural collection of the rejuvenated A. Lange & Sohne brand, consisting of the Saxonia, the Arkade, the Tourbillon Pour le Merite and, of course, the Lange 1. A watch that has been instrumental in the resurrection of the brand, of German watchmaking and of the whole concept of high-end horology, the emblematic Lange 1 is celebrating today its 30th anniversary. And to pay tribute to its longevity, here are 4 new limited editions; in platinum with a black onyx dial or in pink gold with a blue dial, available either a classic Lange 1 or as a Little Lange 1.?The Lange 1 is a watch of such importance for the brand and for the luxury watch industry as a whole that it should deserve an entire article about its history, which would certainly feel relevant today on its 30th anniversary. Well, you should feel lucky, since we have done that already in this in
Appointments at LVMH: New Head of Watchmaking Division and Frederic Arnault Head of Strategy at TAG Heuer - Monochrome Watches
In an article published yesterday by French business magazine Challenges (see the article here, in French), it seems that the Watchmaking Division of LVMH (TAG Heuer, Hublot, Zenith) is about to be reshuffled. The article mentions (without sources or quotes) two important appointments: Frederic Arnault, the 23-year-old son of Bernard Arnault (CEO of LVMH), gets a new position at TAG?Heuer and?Stephane Bianchi is appointed as the head of the?Watchmaking Division.?First, it appears that a young man, Frederic Arnault, Bernard’s penultimate son (aged 23), takes on a much more important position at TAG Heuer. Already appointed Head of Connected Watches at TAG in July 2017, he will now be the Head of Strategy and Digital of the brand. Passionate about new technologies, this recent Polytechnique graduate (just like his father) was already in charge of the brand’s 2.0 products, yet he’s now offered a much wider position at TAG Heuer, a brand with revenues of EUR 900 million.T
First Look: The new Louis Erard Regulateur Grave Noir
Sector dials, with their unique segmented layouts designed over a century ago for improved readability, have a lasting appeal that continues to inspire modern watchmakers. Today, many brands incorporate sector dial watches into their collections, and Louis Erard – founded in 1929 during the peak of this design’s popularity – is no exception. Its Excellence Petite Seconde series offers a variety of colourful models, including the lovely Petite Seconde Terracotta, as a fresh interpretation of this classic style. Louis Erard’s latest release, Le Regulateur Grave Noir, builds on the sector dial’s clarity and legibility, blending it with the brand’s signature regulator layout for a new look. The new Louis Erard Regulateur Grave joins the brand’s Noirmont Metiers d’Art collection as a permanent addition alongside the Regulator with the Grand Feu Enamel dial introduced earlier this year as a limited edition; the two watches share the same case de

The Lamborghini Muira MB&F Horological Machine 5 or HM5?is back on the road. Apart from the steampunk-inspired Legacy Machine 101 recently revealed, the HM5 is based on one of Max Busser’s favorite theme, the?futuristic-looking icons of the 1970's. And the MB&F HM5 is now available in black. The black case is made wi
Hands-on with the Ulysse Nardin FreakLab, a concept turned into reality (live photos, specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
The Freak has always been an important watch, since it was first introduced in 2001. Not only for Ulysse Nardin, but for the entire industry. You may look at it as another impressive and technically advanced watch, with a strange way to display time, however it is so much more than just that. It has to be see as a proper laboratory of research, a watch that, 15 years ago, created a massive break all conventions of how a movement should/could be?construct.?Ulysses Nardin have redesigned the Freak a bit and it looks good!
