SIHH 2014: A. Lange & Sohne presents the Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terraluna - Monochrome Watches
After the presentation in 2013 of the Grand Complication and more recently of the Grand Lange 1 Moon-Phase, the 2014 edition of the SIHH is the time for A. Lange & Sohne to reveal another masterpiece, showing once again the expertise of the manufacture in complicated movements and innovation. The Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terraluna combines a perpetual calendar, a regulator display, a 14 days power reserve and a constant force escapement. Already impressive in itself, the front dial is not the only that attracts us; the Terraluna features on its movement side a brand new orbital moon-phase display. The Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terraluna is a 45.5mm watch available in both a pink or white gold case. The front face may look quite busy, but regarding at the level of information it brings, the dial is well design. The regulator-layout is build around three circles - the minutes on the top - the hours on the right side - the seconds on the left side. The perpetual calendar

GIVE AWAY: IWC Wall Clock - Monochrome Watches
While our managing editor Brice is enjoying a well-deserved vacation, I am making time for what I actually like doing best: writing about beautiful watches! During the year most of my time goes on?many?other activities, to make sure that we can keep sharing our passion for fine watches with you, and we can pay the bills. Monochrome’s subtitle is, and has been for ?the past 10 years, ‘Dedicated to Fine Watches’ and that really covers what we are.?I’m very thankful to you, our readers, for making this possible (if we had only 10 or 20 readers every month, I’m sure no watch?brand would be interested in working with us). And I’m also thankful to the participating watch brands for making the coolest gifts available for you! Today we’re going to draw the winners of the three IWC books, IWC cufflinks and IWC pilot’s sunglasses. And also today, now to be precise, we get to announce our new sweepstake and the prize you can win: an IWC wall clock!
Announcing - "The Speedmaster Chronicles", Our Largest Video Project Ever (and It's All About The Moonwatch) - Monochrome Watches
Today, we’re extremely proud to announce that tomorrow, 11 December 2017, our largest video project ever (and we’ve done quite a few – see here) will go live, and it will last for no less than 5 days. It took us some great efforts to gather all these amazing guests, to find the right angle, to define what it would look like, and of course to film it… Here it is, “The Speedmaster Chronicles” will start tomorrow 5:00 PM (Europe Time) – 11:00 AM (New York time) – 12:00 PM (Hong Kong time). In this series of videos, 5 men will shed their light on one of the most iconic watches ever created, you name it: the Omega Speedmaster “Moonwatch”. From the man who gave the official “Flight Qualified by NASA” accreditation, to a fellow watch-journalist who made Tuesday a greater day, to a passionate guy with a collection to die for,?to one of the greatest contemporary auctioneers, to the man who is the current guarantor?of this ic
Hands-On: A True Surprise of Only Watch 2023, The Furlan Marri Secular Perpetual Calendar
You probably know?Furlan Marri?already. Founded in 2021 by Andrea Furlan (Swiss industrial designer) and Hamad Al Marri (watch collector and artist from the Middle East), it started as a crowdfunded project on Kickstarter. The first watch, a handsome vintage-inspired mechaquartz chronograph, made quite some noise. The second model, an automatic time-only this time, gathered some attention again with its cool design. But up until now, we’ve been looking at carefully designed watches for sure, but in an accessible price range. Things are changing and the two men have been moving faster than anyone imagined. Even if still a unique prototype offered for charity auction Only Watch 2023, the next watch is playing in a far higher category.?Co-developed with Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier, we’re talking about?an ultra-simplified, modular secular perpetual calendar, with a?single adjustment once every 400 years. Now that’s what we call a surprising move.?Secular calendar
