Introducing: The AP Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon RD#3 37mm in White Gold
Considered the precursor of the luxury sports watch category, the Royal Oak turned fifty in 2022. As expected, Audemars Piguet went to town to fete its icon with a host of celebratory models. However, the excitement grew when AP unveiled the first 39mm Jumbo to be fitted with an ultra-thin flying tourbillon (calibre 2968). Officially known as the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin RD#3, the 39mm Jumbo was followed by a second steel model in a smaller 37mm case with a vibrant purple Petite Tapisserie dial. Today, AP releases a more luxurious version of its 37mm flying tourbillon in a white gold case gleaming with baguette-cut diamonds in the bezel.AP's extra-thin flying tourbillon movement – calibre 2968 – marked the brand's third Research & Development project. As a complication previously reserved for 41mm diameters, AP's technical team took five years to rethink the architecture to adapt it to the 39mm and 37mm models. Ad - Scroll to continu
Industry Omega Raises its Warranty to 5 Years on all Watches
Following the trend for more services, more clarity and more security, Omega just announced it will now offer a 5-year warranty on all newly purchased watches – with immediate effect. Until now, the Omega warranty was different depending on the type of products – up to 4 years on Master Chronometer watches, compared to a traditional 2-year warranty in the industry (which was the warranty offered, as of now, on the Speedmaster Moonwatch, for instance). In 2015, Omega raised industry standards with the introduction of the Master Chronometer certification. Thanks to this new process, each watch is tested enduring stringent tests approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). These replicate real-life conditions and in particular, watches must demonstrate resistance to magnetic fields of 15,000 Gauss (to find out more, you can watch our in-depth video about the Master Chronometer certification process here). The brand inaugurated its new manufacture in Biel just o
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Master Chronometer - Video Review
The Seamaster is one of Omega's oldest collections. It was born in 1948 and modelled after watches that Omega delivered to the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Over the years, the collection expanded drastically, ranging from elegant timepieces to ultra-robust instruments. 1993 marked another milestone in the evolution of the Seamaster when Omega introduced the Seamaster Professional 300M, a watch that would become an emblem of the brand when it was worn by a secret agent to become the official 007 watch. Today, as part of our in-depth video reviews, we’ll take a closer look at the blue Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Master Chronometer, the latest generation of this all-time classic, one of the definitive dive watches and the perfect modern “Bond Watch”.The destiny of the SMP 300M would change forever after it was worn by Pierce Brosnan in the 1995 film Goldeneye – even though 007 was wearing a quartz model back then. From this moment on, the Seamaster D

Six Watches Inspired By Our Neighbouring Satellite, The Moon
The Moon, our beloved neighbouring satellite, has a huge influence on life on Earth; it slows down the rotational speed of our planet, affects the tides of our oceans and forms the foundation of our convention of time. As the Moon is an ever-present celestial body, completing one cycle around our planet in approximately 29.5 days, it’s not surprising that it turns up in many watches, whether in the shape of a moon phase indication or a more aesthetical form. The fact of the matter is that the six watches in this week’s Buying Guide all gaze up at the Moon and beyond for inspiration.?Louis Moinet cosmopolisLouis Moinet is no stranger to lunar or cosmic inspiration and often plays with the topic in its watches, most recently this Cosmopolis. Set in a rose gold Tempograph case with a domed sapphire crystal, the Cosmopolis has 12 different types of meteorites on its dial, including a piece of Moon rock. Ten meteorite specimens are spread around the dial, with an eleventh one in
