Hands-On Rado Captain Cook Bronze (Specs & Price)
At Baselworld 2017, Rado surprised the audience with a very appealing diver’s model named ‘Captain Cook’. While the brand has gained its modern notoriety by mastering high-tech materials, mostly by using coloured ceramics, Rado has a rich history of interesting vintage models. Based on a watch released in 1962 with a distinctive case/bezel design, the brand reintroduced the Captain Cook and now enlarges the collection with different sizes and materials. And today, we take a closer look at what’s probably the hottest version, the Captain Cook Bronze – in its three different iterations.BackgroundThe 1960s is known as the golden age of sports watches with a spate of instrument chronographs, pilot’s models and, of course, dive watches meant for professional use or for the earliest days of recreational diving, appearing on the market. While some of the heavyweight brands entered the dive watch market in the mid-1950s (Blancpain, or Omega), Rado waited f
Tudor Heritage Black Bay with Blue Bezel ref. 79220B (Live photos & price) - Monochrome Watches

Let us introduce the NEW Tudor Heritage Black Bay ref. 79220B.The Tudor Heritage Black Bay is a tribute to the past of the Tudor Company, especially to the 1954 Submariner ref. 7922. It brings back the idea of diving watches made by Tudor, with a reinterpretation of the case, dial and - of course - snowflake hands. If you look at the brand’s history, you will notice a famous and really appealing model, the blue Submariner Marine Nationale ref. 9401 (you can find the picture at the end of the article). Delivered to the French Navy, those watches featured a blue bezel and dial and snowflake

Pre-Baselworld 2018 - TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 02 Manufacture 43mm - Monochrome Watches
The Carrera is turning 55 and it never ceases to evolve… During its long life, the TAG Heuer Carrera has taken various forms and incorporated numerous innovations and movements. Yet, it was born a chronograph and remains mainly a chronograph. For Baselworld?2018, TAG will introduce a new edition of its icon, another technical, sporty version, this time with the newly developed Calibre Heuer 02 inside. While the brand has the ability to play with vintage codes and faithful reeditions – see the Autavia or the Monza – the team made the deliberate choice to modernise the watch instead of recreating a watch that looks to the past. This strategy has been deployed over the entire collection when TAG introduced the Carrera Heuer 01, a modular, large and bold piece that incorporated the skeletonised version of the Chronograph calibre 1887 – named here Heuer 01. At 45mm, with angular shapes and a mix of technical materials, it was a strong choice, but one that proved to be
