Introducing The Green Aventurine Code 11.59 by AP Tourbillon
Part of the 2023 collection, Audemars Piguet unveils a mesmerising version of its Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon with a smoked green enamelled aventurine dial. Also referred to as fume or gradient dials, the effect produces a lighter tone in the centre of the dial that intensifies as it reaches the periphery. Presented in a two-tone 41mm pink gold and black ceramic case, this iteration will be launched exclusively in South-East Asia in June 2023, followed by other countries in August. The Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon was one of the first models introduced in the 2019 launch of the Code 11.59 collection and was fitted with a new movement – calibre 2950 – with a flying tourbillon. Following in the footsteps of the 2020 editions, one with a shimmering black aventurine dial and a second one with a blue gradient aventurine dial, Audemars Piguet has gone to town with this Code 11.59 iteration. RZE Endeavour Polaris White and Resolute Arctic - Review, Price
The go-to material for the majority of microbrands is stainless steel as it’s plentiful, durable, and relatively easy to work with. RZE has bucked the trend with an affordable diver and field watch dressed in full titanium, both at accessible prices. Of course, titanium isn’t a new material for watches, but it’s usually reserved for more established brands and carries a bit of a premium. Both RZE Endeavour models we have on hand - the Endeavour Polaris White and Resolute Arctic Grey - bring a lot to the table with a solid blend of form and function.THE BRANDRZE was founded in 2020 and is based in Singapore and Malaysia. Travis Tan, his wife Vivian, and longtime friend Clarence launched the first titanium Resolute Field Watch on Kickstarter, anxious and unsure how things would play out. Within six minutes, the campaign reached $30,000 and was fully funded. Needless to say, the trio had a successful formula. Travis also happens to be a commercial airline pilot, so he kn
Raymond Weil Also Announced Leaving Baselworld in 2019 - Monochrome Watches
The?haemorrhage continues for Baselworld, as another mainstream brand has just announced its departure in 2019. According to the Swiss newspaper Le Temps (here, in French), Raymond Weil, which was exhibiting in Hall 1.0 (where all the big brands are located), won’t be present at Baselworld 2019. After Swatch Group took the lead earlier this year by announcing to leave the show, this piece of news sounds like another frontal attack on MCH, the company that owns Baselworld. In all fairness, the impact of?Raymond Weil leaving Baselworld is not the same as Swatch Group announcing its departure from the show. Certainly, Raymond Weil is a smaller brand, which produces around 150,000 watches, priced between CHF 800 and CHF 3,000. Nothing compared to the 18 brands of Swatch Group, its CHF 8 billion turnover and mainly, the CHF 50 million invested by the Group for the Baselworld week. According to its CEO Elie Bernheim, Raymond Weil spends over CHF 1 million in order to exhibit in Basel. T
The Ralph Lauren Polo Bear Ralph & Ricky Bear Watch - Monochrome Watches
Like other big fashion and lifestyle brands, Ralph Lauren decided watches were missing from his emporium and introduced three lines in 2009 that expressed Lauren's love of all things equestrian and his passion for vintage cars. When it comes to Ralph Lauren watches, every last detail speaks about his American vision of laid-back sophistication and nonchalant elegance. The latest Ralph & Ricky Bear watch is the most intimate model of all, a testament to Ralph Lauren's relationship with his wife and muse, Ricky. Depicting two hears holding hands wearing classic Ralph Lauren clothes, this 38mm automatic three-hand watch comes in a stainless steel case from the Polo Bear collection.Ralph Lauren's foray into watchmaking came about as a joint venture with Richemont in 2008, resulting in the Ralph Lauren Watches and Jewelry company based in Geneva. Since then, collections like the equestrian-inspired Stirrup and rugged outdoorsy Safari have materialised along with the handsome Automotive
Hands-on with the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph - Monochrome Watches
There are actually just a few serious high-end sports chronographs, which are very comfortable on the wrist and that can easily matched with suit and tie or any kind of casual outfit. Of course there’s the Patek Nautilus Chronograph ref. 5980, the AP Royal Oak Chronograph and Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas Chronograph. Last year Vacheron introduced a new model of the Overseas Chronograph, with a deep blue dial (click here), and recently we got some hands-on experience with this one.?The Overseas more or less originates from the legendary Vacheron Constantin 222; the photo showing the steel/gold version, below, is courtesy the Hour Lounge. When you see the sleek case, the integrated bracelet and the sporty AND dressy looks, it probably doesn’t come as a surprise that this model was designed by the late Gerald Genta. And just like its nephews from Patek and AP, which also have been designed by Genta, it featured the ultra-thin caliber 2121. The Overseas didn’t dir
