Hands-On 2021 A. Lange & Sohne Cabaret Tourbillon Handwerkskunst
In 1997, A. Lange & Sohne introduced the Cabaret. A very unlikely name given the brand's august Saxon spirit, the Cabaret was also Lange's first rectangular watch since its rebirth in 1994. Not to be mistaken with the Arkade, which formed part of the quartet of watches that marked the brand’s revival, the Cabaret had a distinctive Art Deco spirit. The most spectacular and complicated version of the Cabaret was the Tourbillon edition that went out of production in 2013. Today, collectors can celebrate with the return of this limited 30-piece edition of the Cabaret Tourbillon in a gleaming 950 platinum case. As Lange's seventh model in its hyper-exclusive Handwerkskunst collection, the finishings are of the highest order. However, before looking at the rich details and unique rectangular movement with stop-seconds for the tourbillon, a few words explaining its genesis might help.Life is a CabaretAlthough it is hard to conceive a rectangular watch in Lange's line-up of round wat
Hands-On Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Valentine Day 2023
Valentine's Day is a marketing opportunity for many watch brands and the perfect occasion to launch special editions. Blancpain has been producing Valentine's Day models for more than two decades, with watches decked out in diamonds and red accents, like these Villeret or Ladybird models. This year, Blancpain turns to another collection to celebrate the most romantic day of the year. Named after August Piccard's deep-water diving vessel, Blancpain added a date complication to make it more practical for daily wear. Although initially designed for separate clientele, the two lines eventually me

Oris Aquis GMT Whale Shark Limited Edition - Introducing, Price
Whale sharks, the gentle giants of the ocean that can measure the length of a school bus, were classified as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2016. Illegal fishing, collisions with boats and entrapment in fishing gear are decimating the population of whale sharks. Despite their enormous dimensions, whale sharks are docile plankton-eating creatures that pose no threat to man. Conversely, man is the biggest threat to whale sharks. To raise awareness of their plight and promote a wider understanding of this fascinating creature, Oris releases a special 43.5mm Aquis GMT Date model with a dial that evokes the spotted backs of the whale shark. For the past decade, Oris has joined the bandwagon of environmental conservation. Grouped under its “Change for the Better” programme, initiatives from restoring, cleaning and protecting the oceans are promoted with the release of dedicated limited editions. These initiatives range from re
