The Collector's Series - Lung Lung and Her A. Lange & Sohne Datograph
Hong Kong-based watch enthusiast Lung Lung Thun (32) also known as @lunglungthun is one of the regular contributors to our Collector's Series, with her vast collection of beautiful watches. We've already discussed with her the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Carolina Bucci. And today, it's one of our all-time favourite watches that will be the centre of attention. Once again, we're very pleased to see such a watch worn by a seasoned female collection, showing that beautiful watches have no gender. In this instalment of the Collector's Series, all eyes are on her A.Lange & Sohne Datograph in Rose Gold, the early reference 403.031 – the non Up/Down, smaller edition with Roman numerals.Frank Geelen – MONOCHROME – What is it you admire in A. In this article we will examine an instrument that is so important that the life of its operator depends on it. The operator in question is a diver, submerging in a hostile environment either to make a living, or to hunt fish. Junghans launches two groovy 1972 Competition limited editions
It's not a well-known piece of trivia, but the German brand Junghans was one of the official timekeepers for the Summer Olympic Games held in Munich in 1972 (the other was Longines). Although we associate the brand from the Black Forest with minimalist Bauhaus-driven designs, Junghans also played an important role in the Munich Olympics, providing timekeeping instruments for disciplines like the 100m, archery and rowing. Junghans even developed an electronic start control, a Multi Counter device to track boats individually and produced the world's first colour finish line photos accurate to one-hundredth of a second. To mark the brand's involvement in the Olympic Games, Junghans also produced a series of civilian watches, including a chronograph known as the Olympic Bullhead (ref. 688.10) with a groovy 1970s case powered by a manual-winding Valjoux 7734.? What goes around comes around, and the 1972 model is back to celebrate its 50th birthday in two limited editions: one in stainless s
