Introducing The Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon (With High-Frequency Regulator)
Zenith’s Defy family is represented by seven sub-collections, including the recent Defy Skyline range. The name of the collection dates to Zenith’s 1902 line of robust pocket watches bearing the name ‘Defi’ only to pop up again in 1969 to distinguish the toughest member of the first El Primero references. For the Defy Skyline collection, Zenith borrowed specific design cues from the 1969 model but toned them down to produce a contender in the luxury sports watch segment without excess vintage overload. The two new Defy Skyline models are fitted with a high-frequency tourbillon movement securely contained in a robust and sporty 41mm Defy case, ensuring the complication can be enjoyed daily and in practically any situation. As a more subtle and contemporary interpretation of its 1969 ancestor, the 41mm Defy Skyline Tourbillon flaunts an octagonal case but has replaced the tetradecagonal (14-sided) bezel with a 12-sided one. Bvlgari Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT Steel Hands-On
Since 2014 Bvlgari has set itself the challenge of producing some of the thinnest watches ever created. Following the thinnest tourbillon watch, the thinnest minute repeater watch, or?the thinnest automatic movement, the Rome-based brand decided to focus on the chronograph complication, and in 2019 it presented the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic, the world’s thinnest chronograph watch and Bvlgari’s fifth record in the ultra-thin arena. Following the same recipe as?the automatic watch last year, today the brand introduces the Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT Steel, a sportier, more robust watch with increased water-resistance and bolder looks.?In its quest to produce ultra-thin watches, Bvlgari adopted a decidedly modern and contemporary approach merging traditional watchmaking codes with design cues from the hottest watch category these days: the luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet. And this road has been paved with success; the Octo Finissimo is now t
Finding your new watch - Monochrome Watches
Sometimes a watch really grasps your attention and doesn’t let go. What is it that sets this watch apart from the rest? Is it the looks or maybe the brand’s name and fame appeals to you? Or did your father or favourite movie star had a watch that made a deep impression? Or maybe it is mainly about the technical aspects?Since the reason will be different for everyone and will probably even differ from watch to watch, I can only describe what made me want a watch from the Finnish watchmaker Sarpaneva. In my story at World Tempus I wrote about my decision to buy a special watch. But why this one and not any other watch. There are thousands of beautiful watches, so more than enough to choose from. One of my friends is crazy about a double straumann escapement, while i have just a vague idea of what makes this escapement differ from normal escapements. One of my other friends collects Cartier of the Collection Privee. And so do we all have a weak spot for something different. Fo
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Bamford Limited Edition - Hands-On, Price
Collaborations between watch brands and external designers or watch customizers are a growing thing in the industry, the idea being to infused a different take on the watch, less ‘horological’, more design-oriented. So what happens when TAG Heuer, the avant-garde brand known for its robust sports watches, meets Bamford Watch Department, the famous UK-based personalisation house? Well, it gives an original, overly-designed, slightly 1970s take on the brand’s dive watch, with an even more instrumental look. Here’s the bold and modern TAG Heuer Aquaracer Bamford Limited Edition.TAG Heuer and Bamford is a long-lasting love story. It all started when, in 2018, TAG Heuer and George Bamford (the man behind Bamford Watch Department) came together to create a special version of the Monaco Chronograph, a bold and unmistakable watch that made sensation. Bamford’s idea is to infuse a less traditional sense of design to classic pieces of the watchmaking industry. BWD

And the base itself is a reliable, rob
