Hands-On: The All-New Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer
Slightly overlooked and possibly in the shadows of the classic Seamaster Diver 300M, the Planet Ocean is the most capable collection of dive watches in Omega’s range, comprising models from 600m up to 6000m water-resistance (without counting the all-mighty Ultra-Deep that survived the Mariana Trench). Born in 2005, it will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and we can possibly expect a few surprises coming from Bienne. And the first one to emerge from the depths is this unprecedented take on the powerful Deep Black collection, the first PO to receive a world time complication. Here’s the brand-new Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer.?The worldtimer function isn’t new to Omega, which has been using its in-house Calibre 8938 within the Seamaster Aqua Terra collection since 2017. In the same vein, the Seamaster Planet Ocean, despite being an ultra-focused dive watch capable of withstanding incredible depths, also had its fair share of complications, rangi
Parmigiani presents the Bugatti Aerolithe - Monochrome Watches
In the watch industry there are many collaborations between watches and cars. The combination of mechanics and design, masculinity and speed are easily linked. Just think of Ferrari (now-a-days with Hublot), Porsche (now-a-days Eterna, but it used to be IWC), Bentley (of course with Breitling) and Aston Martin (Jaeger-LeCoultre). Today we can show you the brand new Parmigiani Bugatti Aerolithe, a new milestone in the already intense collaboration between Swiss High-End watchmaker Parmigiani and French ultra luxury car maker Bugatti.Parmigiani does not simply “brand” the watch with the car-maker’s name, but instead goes the extra mile. And they have been doing so since the very beginning of the collaboration. The iconic design of the Parmigiani Bugatti Super Sport that we showed you before (click here) shows how a collaboration can be so much more than simply adding an extra logo to the dial. Introducing The Redesigned Cartier Tank Americaine Watches
Cartier is putting on an impressive show at Watches & Wonders this year. Among the novelties is a revisited collection of the elegant Tank Americaine, a Tank watch with an elongated and curved rectangular case introduced in 1989. Ultimately all Tank watches owe their origins to the cult 1917 Tank watch made by Louis Cartier, who took inspiration from Renault's tanks in use on the Western Front. Although eleven Tank Americains are presented in three different sizes, only two models (LM) are equipped with Cartier's new automatic movement. Available in stainless steel and 18k pink gold, the resized LM models respect the iconic codes of the Tank Americaine but feature subtle design tweaks for a more harmonious and balanced look. The Tank Americaine of 1989 followed the design tenets of the curved, ergonomic silhouette of Louis Cartier's iconic Tank Cintree of 1921 but introduced rounded brancards (case sides and lugs) and a restyled chemin de fer (railroad) minute track with rounded end
