Spotted - Conor McGregor with a Stunning Green Patek Philippe 5905P
No surprises to see Conor McGregor, the flamboyant Irish professional mixed martial artist and boxer, mostly known for his fight against the equally flamboyant boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., in an episode of “Spotted”. His love for watches, mostly and Patek Philippe, is clearly visible on his Instagram feed, regularly showing some of his preferred timepieces – and some green dial pieces, as a reference to his nationality. But earlier today, McGregor posted something quite special. It is green, it is a Patek and you’ve probably never seen it before.McGregor often flaunts his Irish patriotism and is a fervent wearer of the green-white-orange flag and the symbolic colour green. This also shows in his taste for watches, as he owns multiple green dial pieces, for instance, the quite handsome Day-Date 40 in Everose gold with green dial. Posted a few hours ago was a straightforward, 100% watch oriented watch-nerd post on his Instagram account, once again with a gree
Buying Guide - Best Automotive-Inspired Chronographs of 2022 (So Far)
There is a good reason why we run the Petrolhead Corner column every Saturday on MONOCHROME. Petrolheads are very often attracted to?watches and watch aficionados usually have a thing for cars too. This is simply the result of a fascination for all things mechanical. In this respect, it comes as no surprise that automotive-inspired watches are legion. Since we are almost closing in on the first half of the year, it is an appropriate time to recap 5 cool car-themed watches of 2022. And without surprise, all are chronographs – because that's what you need to time a race or calculate an average speed.TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition Calibre Heuer 02The Monaco is one of the most iconic models in the history of TAG Heuer. Talking to Batavi Watches' founder on the pandemic and other struggles
Batavi Watches is named after an ancient Germanic tribe living along the river Rhine in what is known as the Netherlands. The spirit of the Batavi people resonated with the brand's founder, Ugur Mamak, mostly as the tribe fought off several attempts by oppressors, including Julius Caesar. Going against the grains in an effort to find its bit of the market for a long time coming, Batavi Watches has so far created two interesting watch collections, the Kosmopoliet and the Architect. Catching up with Ugur, we find out how he managed to navigate his brand through the pandemic, what challenged him in his endeavours and what's next or Batavi Watches.Robin, MONOCHROME Watches - Hi Ugur, pleased to catch up again. We have to ask, even though we'd rather not talk about it; how has the pandemic been for you and your company? Ad - Scroll to continue with article Ugur Mamak
SIHH 2014: Introducing the New Panerai Radiomir 1940 Chronograph - Monochrome Watches
SIHH 2014 is on fire and Officine Panerai is part of the game. The Italian brand just reveals a new series of vintage-inspired chronographs based on a wonderful Minerva movement. The Radiomir 1940 Chronograph will be available in three versions, platinum (PAM00518), red gold (PAM00519) and white gold (PAM00520). A new limited edition to inflame the Paneristi's mind?Panerai's first chronograph was created in 1943. It was the famous (and now overpriced) Radiomir Mare Nostrum, developed for the Italian navy’s deck officers. In the light of this rich history, Panerai reveals a new vintage-inspired chronograph, part of the new Radiomir 1940 line. Based on a cushion-shaped case with lugs (not the wire loop strap attachments of the classical Radiomir) and without the crown protection of the Luminor models, this case shows the transition between the old Radiomir and the 1950's Luminor. Three versions, each in a limited edition of 100 pieces, will be available: PAM00518, platinum case wit
