Introducing The Norqain Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm Ice Blue Limited Edition
We've looked at Norqain many times since its 2018 founding as the Swiss watches are both well thought and aesthetically pleasing, especially for such a young brand. It's no surprise as part of the team behind Norqain came from Breitling, including founder Ben Kuffer. The Freedom 60 Chrono was an early success with a bold 43mm case, but a more universal 40mm Chrono launched last year and has been a highlight of the brand. Norqain is now releasing a limited edition of the 40mm chronograph with an ice blue dial that should please fans of the prior models.?The stainless steel case hasn't changed, but there was no reason to modify this more compact Freedom 60 Chrono, a relatively new and best-selling design. As the name implies, it's 40mm in diameter with a height of 14.9mm (lug-to-lug is 49.2mm). A box-type AR sapphire crystal protects the dial and provides retro distortions at angles, while a sapphire exhibition case back displays the Sellita-based automatic. The case is polished with som
Buying Guide: An Ode To The Panda Dial Through Six Chronograph Watches
We all love a good chronograph, don’t we? But what determines what makes a chronograph, well, good? For some, it might come down to the design, for others, it has all to do with perceived value for money or the type of movement (manual vs. automatic), and then there are those looking for complexity like flyback or rattrapante functionality. But what we can all pretty much agree on, is the allure of a Panda-dial chronograph, if done right! There’s just something very appealing in a white (or silver) dial with black contrasting subdials. So much so, that in 2021 creative masterminds MB&F decided to go a step further and present an actual Panda?watch for the Only Watch charity auction (admittedly, not a chronograph) and it’s making somewhat of a return for this year’s edition it seems. Sticking with the topic at hand though, here’s our little celebration of the ever-popular Panda-dial chronograph, with a subtle splash of colour mixed in for good measure.T
Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 7234G (Price)
When it first came on the market in 2015, the Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 5524G clearly made some noise. It was simply miles away from your classic Calatrava watch and marked the first production Pilot’s watch created by Patek (there were some prototypes in the past, though). Meet the Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 7234G-001.In 2015, the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time really surprised the crowd at Baselworld. Rare Roger Dubuis watches - Monochrome Watches
Sometimes you see a watch and you immediately ‘fall in love’ with it. This does not happen too often, but what if this happens with two watches from the same brand? Recently a friend mailed me about a watch that was for sale at a local watch store. He knoww I have a weak spot for mono-poussoir chronographs. The watch was a Roger Dubuis Hommage Mono-poussoir in white gold with a salmon color dial. A salmon color dial is not my usual pick, but this one was so beautiful….
