First Look: The Elegantly Updated Chopard L.U.C Lunar One
The L.U.C Lunar One was Chopard's first calendar and astronomy complication. Unveiled in 2005, the model combines a perpetual calendar and a precision orbital moon phase display in a rotating aperture. Twenty years later, Chopard revisits its L.U.C Lunar One with a more compact basin-style case, a trimmer, more legible dial decorated with hand-guilloche in blue and salmon and a practical quick-release system for the strap. Still powered by the L.U.C 96.13-L calibre with a micro-rotor, the movement is chronometer-certified, and the Poin?on de Geneve hallmark attests to the high-quality finishings of the new Lunar One models. The evolution of the Chopard L.U.C Lunar One over the years.More Compact & Reshaped CaseIn keeping with the L.U.C family's penchant for discreet luxury and refined proportions, many fans of the Lunar One will be delighted to learn that the 43mm diameter case of the original has been reduced to a more compact 40.5mm. The thickness, however, has increased slightly
Industry News: Moderate Growth for LVMH in 2024 in a Challenging Environment, Watches barely Impacted
In the context of a global decline of the luxury goods demand, LVMH, the world's largest luxury goods group, reported revenues of EUR 84.7 billion for 2024, +1% on an organic basis, after a record performance in 2023. In the fourth quarter, organic revenue growth came to 1%, accelerating with respect to the third quarter. Profit from recurring operations came to EUR 19.6 billion down 14% versus 2023. For what is our main concern here at MONOCHROME, the sales of the Watches and Jewelry Business Group are reported at EUR 10,507 million, down 2% on an organic basis. Taking a look at the breakdown of sales by regions, the performance was supported by double-digit growth in Japan (+28%, 9 % of revenues) thanks to a stronger yen, and moderate growth for the United States (+3%, 25% of revenues) and Europe (+2%, 25% of revenues) while the revenues in Asia (-11%, 28% of revenues) were affected by the uncertainties in China. The Auction Hammer: Elvis Presleys Omega Constellation - Monochrome Watches
It's Now or Never, or it will be at the Antiquorum sale of Important Modern and Vintage Timepieces in New York on December 11. If You're Lonesome that night you might want to take yourself downtown to Madison Avenue where among the highlights will be the rare sighting of a c.1960 Omega Constellation, which was once owned and worn by a king. And not just any old king either, we're talking about The King himself - Elvis Presley!Charlie Hodge, a successful musician himself, became a close friend of Presley during their time together when both were serving in the US Army. The two struck up a lasting chemistry between them, and their friendship would endure until the Legend's death, with Hodge a faithful and loyal aide and counsel, and even residing in Graceland for 16 years. Presley's Omega Constellation regularly drew admiring comments from his friend, and eventually Hodge was made a gift of the watch as a token of their bond. The Elvis Presley Omega Constellation features the Cal. 504 man
Buying Guide - 5 Accessible Automatic Dive Watches Below 1000 Euros
Dive watches are some of the most popular timepieces around. These tool watches were originally designed to perform specific aquatic tasks, worn on the wrist of professionals. Today, they are equally ready-for-action instruments and style essentials; great companions in and out of the water. And even though it might be fully equipped, a cool dive watch doesn't necessarily have to break the bank. We have selected five great divers, all with a strong personality and great value for money.Seiko Prospex Diver's PADI Samurai SRPB99K1Originally launched in 2004, the popularity of this watch and its sharp, angular design gave this model the nickname Samurai. After almost 10 years of discontinuation, the Seiko Prospex Samurai was relaunched in 2017, including this very cool PADI Samurai SRPB99K1 edition. It packs all the attributes of a professional dive watch, including a 120-click bezel with a 60-minute blue-and-red scale printed on an aluminium insert, a screw-down crown, 200m water-resista
Hands-On Review: The Tudor Black Bay 54
Black Bay, Black Bay 58 and now, Black Bay 54. Tudor continues to expand its signature dive watch collection… by reducing it again. The BB is typically a watch that lives with its times, a watch that follows the trends. When it was first presented, back in 2012, the original Black Bay Burgundy watch was in tune with the current market; vintage style in a relatively large case. But things have changed quite drastically over the years. And now that the market is asking for more reasonable diameters, the classic diver comes back… to the original diameter of the 1950s. But that Black Bay 54 remains typical Tudor; vintage style, modern features. Let’s check if it’s any good.BackgroundCompact, clean, historically relevant and yet full of modernity, the Black Bay 54 is a direct tribute to the past of the brand. In fact, it has to be seen as a modern interpretation of Tudor’s first ever Submariner watch, to be precise the Oyster Prince Submariner reference 7922. A
