Luxury Watches |
This timekeeper by Hamilton definitely grabs attention. Hamilton's Broadway day date stays true to its roots with the compact circular dial of 40mm diameter, Arabic numerals marked at 6 and12'oclock, luminescent hand hour markers and the date day window at 3'oclock. The real attention seeking feature is the color combination of this model, a bright yellow stripe which adds a pop of color against the sapphire blue dial fastened by the dark brown leather straps which too complements the dial very well.

Dead Second a.k.a. Seconde Morte for Deadly Precision - Monochrome Watches
Watch collectors and aficionados are used to looking at the nearly continuous sweep of a second hand around the dial to distinguish a mechanical timepiece from quartz watches. In a mechanical watch the second hands moves forward in increments of a fraction of a second depending on the frequency of its balance. Yet, dead second watches (also called dead beat second or seconde morte in French) mark the second with discreet jumps between them, just like quartz watches. A Technical Perspective?looks into this rare, smart and mechanically sophisticated functionality.Upclose with the Jaeger-Lecoultre Geophysic with dead second (true second), a reedition in tribute to a rare chronometer manufactured in 1958, the first international geophysical year. The spooky Petite Seconde Louis Horror x Seconde/Seconde
Louis Erard has become a byword for collaborations, and the list of watchmakers and design studios involved with the brand is growing by the day. Fast becoming a tradition, the models singled out for the collaborative transformations are the Regulateur and the Petite Seconde from Louis Erard’s Excellence collection. Tapping into a festive Halloween mood, the latest Petite Seconde has been designed by seconde/seconde, the alias of Romaric Andre, who has gained fame for customising vintage watches with lighthearted, whimsical touches.Seconde/secondeA serial hand-swapper, Parisian designer Romaric Andre makes no qualms about his intentions: “I vandalize other people’s products only because I failed at building mine.” Taking the seriousness out of vintage watches, Andre’s tongue-in-cheek customisations include a Air King with a cloud substituting the central seconds hand or a Patek Philippe model branded Tiffany & Co. with a croissant-shaped minute hand
The 5 Coolest TAG Heuer Monaco (50th Anniversary) - Buying Guide
In 1969, Heuer (which would become TAG Heuer) revolutionized the watch industry with two great introductions… First is, of course, the launch of the calibre 11, one of three first automatic chronograph movements ever created. Second was the introduction of a watch that would later become an icon (but that wasn’t that successful back then…) You name it, the Monaco. In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this watch, we’ve selected the five coolest TAG Heuer Monacos you can get.?The TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 “Steve McQueen” CAW211PWhy is it cool??The reason is simple. If the Monaco is famous, it is because back in 1971, Steve “King of Cool” McQueen chose it in the movie Le Mans. The watch he was wearing while racing his Gulf-sponsored Porsche 917 was the original, blue-dial 1133B… And the present TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 CAW211P is a faithful modern re-edition. Same colour, same case shape, same horizontal indexes, a crown

Today we’re introducing the new ochs und junior moon phase that is now available in a 39mm sterling silver case, and that comes with a patinated blue dial. Since the very beginning of the brand, in 2008, there have been ochs und junior watches in both 39mm and 42mm, although the sterling silver 39mm case has never been used for the moon phase –?it’s?precise for the coming 3,478 years! Another first, is the use of precious metal, platinum, for the hands, date, sun and moon.?ochs und junior customisationsWhat ochs und junior offers, is probably the strangest type of luxury you can imagine. However when you’re not looking to impress by flashing a big watch with?a?well known name on the dial, you could very well be intrigued by the Luzern-based watch brand. We’ve called it Luxury 2.0?before, and our contributor Robin recently reviewed my own ochs und junior two time zones (with a stunning patinated brass dial) and he called it “taking customisation to th
