The Hamilton Jazzmaster View Auto is a great combination of contemporary watchmaking and quality craftsmanship. It is a great stainless steel watch that features a jet black dial with the date window at the 6 o'clock position. It has a sturdy sapphire crystal glass on top which makes it scratch-resistant. Watches NEWS
Gerald Genta Arena Bi-Retrograde Anthracite
As some of you certainly know, there’s much more to Gerald Genta than his fame as the designer of the Royal Oak. The man also founded his own watch brand, which was acquired by Bvlgari in 2000 and is one of the pillars behind today’s impressive Octo Finissimo collection. Last year, we saw the name “Gerald Genta” printed again on the dial of a 50th-anniversary model. For 2020, Bvlgari continues to revive the name and brings a new, more modern take on the signature double-retrograde display, with the new Gerald Genta Arena Bi-Retrograde Anthracite.Gerald Genta is renowned for his designs, such as the Royal Oak or the Nautilus. But he was also the founder of an eponymous watch brand and produced some of the most striking and boldest haute horlogerie watches of his times – including some grand complication models. Another element that consolidated the fame of his brand was unique displays – the retrograde and bi-retrograde movements. In 1996, Gerald Gent
Hands-On - The Cartier Pebble Watch Re-Edition (Specs & Price)
Over the years, Cartier's singular perception of elegance and its mastery of shapes have remained the driving force behind the brand's design. The historic Parisian jeweller and watchmaker enjoys an unrivalled legacy in creating fascinating shaped watches. Classic round watches are extremely rare in the brand's collections, and round Cartier watches almost inevitably come with a twist, like the unapologetically elegant Cartier Pebble “Baseball” that has been recreated in a limited edition of 150 pieces to celebrate its 50th anniversary.Vintage Cartier models are all the rage these days. The latest Cartier on everyone's lips is the Pebble – also known as the Baseball. And while everyone now seems to be familiar with the model, it is actually a rare, rather obscure model designed by Cartier London in 1972. Still, the model has been reaching impressive prices at auction. One of the very rare known examples was hammered for CHF 403,000 by Phillips in 2021 in Geneva.?
Mido Commander Big Date 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Review
Back in 2018, Mido released the Commander Big Date to celebrate 100 years of watchmaking, an impressive feat for any Swiss brand given challenging events like World War II and the quartz crisis that ravaged the industry. The following year, a special edition debuted to mark the 60th anniversary of one of the brand's most prominent lines, the Commander. The Commander Big Date 60th Anniversary Limited Edition adds some red accents and dial changes for a new personality, and it just might be my favourite piece in Mido's entire portfolio.?BackgroundThe Commander debuted in 1959 and was chosen over the popular Ocean Star and Multifort lines to celebrate the brand's centennial. There are several Commander variants in Mido's collection, such as the vintage-inspired Commander Shade that harkens back to the 1970s and Commander Gradient Calibre 80 with a skeletonized aesthetic under a smoked dial. The Big Date models are the standouts with, according to the company, the largest big date aperture
Montblanc launches Shop-in-Shop at Acejewelers - Monochrome Watches
Do you remember that website from many watch brands started with a warning against buying watches online? By now?internet isn’t new for people who’re looking to buy a watch, whether it is for seeking information, specifications, retail prices or even purchase online. Hey, otherwise Monochrome wouldn’t see so many readers every month. And while some brands – the smaller, niche brands – already opened their own e-shop many years ago, major brands also start to make the move from Boutique to eBoutique.Montblanc already opened their online eBoutique for people living in Germany, France, the UK and the USA. Today they announced that they opened a shop-in-shop at Acejewelers.com, making Acejewelers the?first Montblanc e-tailer in the Netherlands. Good news for people in the Netherlands and other countries that don’t have an eBoutique yet. Buying from an authorized e-tailer gives you as much security as when you buy your watches offline.
