The reason behind this alliance is historic and reverts to the start of the 20th century when Jaeger started manufacturing cockpit instruments for Alli
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Collection Sector Dials Review (Specs & Price)
25 years ago, the highly-respectable manufacture?Jaeger-LeCoultre innovated not with a new complication or a new material, but by implementing the “1000 Hours Control” procedure, an in-house certification comprising a series of radical tests to ensure that the watches are reliable and precise. As a tribute to this anniversary,?Jaeger-LeCoultre has created an entire new collection of?Master Control models, with stunning sector dials. Today on Monochrome, we take a look at these 3 watches: the?Master Chronograph, the?Master Geographic and the Master Control Date (and just wait till you see the prices…)The look of the new?Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control CollectionA watch is a movement, a pedigree, a name but mainly, it is a design (who wants to wear a badly designed watch anyway…) This is where?Jaeger-LeCoultre wins?big with the new?Master Control Collection. Oris?Holstein Edition 2022?Full Steel Worldtimer (Price)
Vintage watches from the 1960s and 1970s have been all the rage for the past decade, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that some brands are pushing the fast-forward button on the timeline. We’ve seen this trend in the fashion industry, with the 1980s and 1990s proving to be a great source of inspiration for recent collections. To mark its 118th birthday, Swiss brand Oris releases a Holstein Edition 2022 based on a Full Steel Worldtimer from the late 1990s with a landmark in-house calibre. It’s bold, it’s different, it’s not going to be to everyone’s liking…?The Third Holstein modelFounded in 1904 in the Swiss village of Holstein, Oris uses the Holstein denomination for its limited-edition watches. We first saw it with the Holstein Edition 2020, a bronze edition of the Sixty Five Chronograph. The next year, Oris released the Holstein Edition 2021, a compact take on the Big Crown with a sleek look at in-house movement. Marking its third limited
Oris Aquis GMT Whale Shark Limited Edition - Introducing, Price
Whale sharks, the gentle giants of the ocean that can measure the length of a school bus, were classified as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2016. Illegal fishing, collisions with boats and entrapment in fishing gear are decimating the population of whale sharks. Despite their enormous dimensions, whale sharks are docile plankton-eating creatures that pose no threat to man. Conversely, man is the biggest threat to whale sharks. To raise awareness of their plight and promote a wider understanding of this fascinating creature, Oris releases a special 43.5mm Aquis GMT Date model with a dial that evokes the spotted backs of the whale shark. For the past decade, Oris has joined the bandwagon of environmental conservation. Grouped under its “Change for the Better” programme, initiatives from restoring, cleaning and protecting the oceans are promoted with the release of dedicated limited editions. These initiatives range from re
Clerc Hydroscaph GMT Power Reserve Chronometer, the heavy diver - Monochrome Watches
The choice for dive watches is quite literally endless. There are thousands of good, very good, or extremely good dive watches out there. There are also plenty of so-so dive watches, so it is very possible to lose track of what's what in this popular category. Thus, we feel it is our duty to share some options outside the beaten path of Submariners, Seamasters or Panerais. One of these options is Clerc, a brand dedicated to dive watches with a bold design. Today, we bring you the Clerc Hydroscaph GMT Power Reserve Chronometer, first introduced last year, in one of our extensive reviews, including specs, lots of pictures and of course, our personal thoughts!A dive watch is not only popular amongst actual divers. Most are very rugged, usable tool-watches but a lot of them never go near their depth ratings. Nevertheless, most of them see water in one way or another (shower, swimming pool, heavy rain) so it is a comforting thought that your precious watch is able to take a bit of a beating
