You will be interested to know the original Hamilton Frogman was initially created for the U.S. Naval ¡®Frogman' teams. Now, more than 70 years after, you can still rock this design on your wrist with the Khaki Navy Frogman Auto H77705345 Hamilton watch. The vital features haven't been changed. So, it is still a very heavy-duty watch. It has a uni-directional rotating bezel as well as supreme water resistance. You also get underwater luminescence (hence the name Naval). The blue leather strap and dial work on the water-aesthetic impressively.

Alain Delon's Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo sells for Absolute Record Price - Monochrome Watches
This is unheard of, the vintage Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo, which belonged to French actor Alain Delon, was sold at an auction last week, for an absolute record price of € 68,750 Euro!!This price is even more spectacular, when considering Delon’s Royal Oak Jumbo does not have the much desired dial with the AP-logo at 6 o’clock; something the newly released Jumbo does have. Nor did the auctioneers website mention whether it’s an A-series or one of the later (also seventies) B, C or D-series. Ad - Scroll to continue with article Last month a very sought-after A series with AP @ 6 dial from 1972, that our friends of Hodinkee showed us, sold for € 31,200 Euro (37,500 CHF). That price was was already an absolute record.Alain Delon has worn his Royal Oak during the shooting of several of his movies, like “Comme un boomerang” (1976) a
Hands on: The Nivada Grenchen Chronosport
Returning to the scene in 2020 with Guillaume Laidet at the helm, Nivada Grenchen had plenty of tricks up its sleeve thanks to its rich repertoire of mid-20th-century tool watches. Reviving some of its most famous models –? the Chronomaster, the Depthmaster, or the Super Antarctic – Nivada Grenchen has gained a cult following among fans of vintage revivals that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. However, the Chronosport we'll be looking at today is a true rarity that never made it into full-scale production. A multipurpose instrument with chronograph functions and 200m water-resistance, the Chronosport, which surfaced as a prototype in the early 1970s, has provided the blueprint for its 21st-century revival.Founded in 1926 by Jacob Schneider in Granges, Nivada Grenchen was one of the first watch brands to produce automatic watches in 1930. It introduced its first automatic waterproof model, the Antarctic, in 1950. If you are interested in the brand's history, Brice's a
Hands-on with the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic True Second and Universal Time (Photos, Specs & Price) - Monochrome Watches
Last year Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Geophysic 1958 in three limited editions, and today the Maison returns?with four new models of the Geophysic collection. The limited editions of last year have all been sold out (rather quick!) and while nobody had foreseen that JLC would turn the Geophysic into a new collection, that’s exactly what they did. And they added some interesting horological content to this new collection, which?somehow perfectly fits the bill. Shortly before the official release, we had the chance to get some hands-on experience. Let’s have a closer look at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic True Second and Geophysic Universal Time. The Geophysic 1958 was heavily inspired on the original vintage models – or we could say a reissue that’s very true to its origin. Like it’s ancestor it sported similar tool-watch features, like a soft-iron inner case to protect the movement from magnetic radiation. We covered the Geophysic’s history (and l
Introducing: Montblanc Star Legacy Green Exploding Star Collection
In 1997, Montblanc launched its first watch collection, influenced, as you might expect, by its famous writing instruments. The Star Legacy collection, launched in 1997, featured the brand's famous white star logo on the crown. Introduced in 1913, the logo gracing the caps of its fountain pens that looks like a star is, in fact, a stylised representation of a bird's eye view of the snow-capped peak of Mont Blanc and its six glaciers. Following the two limited edition models released last year with blue dials, Montblanc proposes an Automatic Date and a Chronograph Day & Date with lively green guilloche-style dials. The pebble-shaped 43mm stainless steel case and onion crowns shared by both models are inspired by Minerva pocket watches from the late 19th and early 20th century. The large 43mm case size, introduced in 2020, is coupled with a height of 11mm for the Automatic Date and 14.76mm for the Chronograph. The case is decorated with polished top surfaces an
Oris Big Crown ProPilot Big Date Bronze (Specs & Price)
Bronze is big at Oris, and the brand has been toying with bronze cases since the release of the Carl Brashear model in 2016. Four years later, it produced the Holstein Edition 2020 Bronze chronograph attached to the first Swiss-made solid bronze bracelet. Signature models like the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date have also been treated to bronze, including attractive two-tone steel and bronze editions like the Sixty-Five Sunset with a gradient dial. Today, it's the Big Crown ProPilot Big Date’s turn for a bronze makeover.Oris has been associated with the world of aviation since the turn of the 20th century. Starting with pilot pocket watches in the early 1910s, Oris produced its first pilot's wristwatch in 1917 (known as the Big Crown from 1938 on). With its reputation for reliable, robust tool watches, the brand has an entire collection dedicated to Aviation with vintage-style models like the Big Crown Pointer Date. It also features more contemporary styled pilot watches with its fut
