Review of The New AP Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT
The Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT was just presented by Audemars Piguet in the pool of other new Royal Oaks, distinguished by an even more aggressive design than its Concept predecessors and an exceptional automatic rattrapante chronograph calibre 4407 with the date and 24-hour GMT functions. This watch is a rightful heir to the Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Michael Schumacher and an important addition, not just to the Concept series. It is here to make history as it will lead the new generation of split-seconds chrono movements used outside the Grand Complications family. Let’s take a closer look. The Royal Oak Concept SeriesAudemars Piguet presented the first-ever watch in the Royal Oak Concept series in 2002 while celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak. The high-tech looking 44mm watch in a cobalt-based super-alloy Alacrite 602 case housed the manually wound calibre 2896 with a one-minute tourbillon. Weekly Watch Photo - The Extraordinary Models of the Cartier Tank Collection - Monochrome Watches
This week’s Weekly Watch Photos (WWP) is dedicated to extraordinary Tank models from Cartier. All photos are made by well-known Cartier expert and fine watches connoisseur GEO, whom you might remember from previous WWP’s showing his?Cartier Santos 100 Carbon?or timepeices from the Collection Privee Cartier Paris:?the?extremely rare Tank Cintree?and the Rotonde Day & Night. Other photos, made by Geo, that are featured in our WWP include the URWERK 103?and?two sets of the brilliant Hautlence HL05 (here and here).?Shortly before last year’s SIHH, we here at Monochrome wondered about the new Tank that Cartier was about to introduce and listed the most important Tank models that Cartier introduced?since the very first was launched in 1917. That was (again) a perfect opportunity to show Geo’s stylish and elegant photos. Today we’ll show you photos of extraordinary Tank models that Cartier introduced, but we’ll start with the very first Tank that Cartie
The Collector's Series - Minutemachines' IWC Portuguese Pisa 5441-07
We’ve said it over the past already, but 1980s and 1990s IWC watches are on the rise. This era, that of the resurgence of the brand, gave birth to superb watches, such as the Doppelchronograph or the Deep One. But instrument watches are not the only topic of discussion… That was the time for the comeback of the Portuguese too. Among multiple variations around the concept, the IWC Portuguese Jubilee 5441 is one of the most desirable models. Produced in limited editions only, it is a rare and collectable watch already. And then enters the IWC Portuguese?Pisa Limited Edition?5441-07, issued in 50 pieces only in 1997 and sold exclusively through Pisa Orologi of Milan, Italy. Today, Mister @Minutemachines, an IWC-oriented collector talks about his passion for the Schaffhausen-based brand and, specifically, this superb edition of the brand’s emblematic nautical watch.Voir cette publication sur Instagram Ad - Scroll to continue with article
The Collector's Series - Sam and his Bremont AC 1 for the America's Cup - Monochrome Watches
They are the first official British timing partner to the America's Cup since 1851. To celebrate, Bremont have created a special edition series of timepieces to celebrate its involvement. This series of watches have been inspired by the legendary J-Class yachts of the 30s. For this reason, we felt it was only appropriate to sit down and talk to a gentleman as passionate about the ocean as he is about his watches, my good friend, Sam Laurie - and his Bremont AC 1, the first of the Limited Editions dedicated to the America's Cup. As an avid waterman, he spent his early years working for a number of distinguished families, racing and operating the most advanced super-yachts around the world. His adventures began on ADIX, the 64 metre 3-masted schooner, where he was part of the successful transatlantic record attempt in 2002 and extensive Pacific programme visiting the most remote tribes and atolls. He was part of the management team at G.L. Watson that oversaw the world's largest private
