SIHH 2015 - Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept RD1 Acoustic Research Minute Repeater - How it possibly works? - Monochrome-Watches
A few weeks before the 2015 Edition of the SIHH, Audemars-Piguet introduced something highly interesting, a pure concept watch with a single aim: being the Minute Repeater 2.0. based on the now famous Royal Oak Concept case, this watch summarizes 8 years of research and development, all devoted to improve the?volume, pitch, tones and harmony of sound of a minute repeater. However AP remains extremely discreet about how this watch works and what are the solutions employed. But, you know us here at Monochrome-Watches, we’ll try to give you some clues after having seen the watch in the ‘metal’.Audemars-Piguet claims to have the best ever Minute Repeater with this?Royal Oak Concept RD1 Acoustic Research. Buying Guide: Is Purple The Hottest New Colour For Watches?
Like seasons throughout the year, there’s a constant ebb and flow in terms of design, shapes, colours, sizes and materials in watchmaking. With green being “the hottest thing since sliced bread” over the past years, it now seems there’s a very strong and definitive shift to another striking tone of colour; Purple! In the past, we would see purple watches every now and then, but recently more and more have been rearing their seductive heads, and here are seven of the coolest ones!Baltic PrismicInspired by geometric shapes and luminous refractions, the Baltic Prismic is a surprisingly fun take on a “cocktail watch”. The charmingly compact watch has a purple dial with a guilloche-like centre pattern, a circular brushed ring, a grooved outer flange and a grained small seconds subdial with crosshair. The pyramid
Bremont Watches, go see them! - Monochrome Watches
Bremont Watches is a relatively new watch brand from the UK. Yes indeed, a British watch brand. And it’s a very interesting brand. Last year a friend told me about a new and very nice watch brand. After looking at some photos of their watches, i was interested but could not fully relate to his immense enthusiasm. The photos showed nice ‘aviation’ watches, more or less like the IWC pilot series. He said… you gotto see them ‘in the metal’, than you’ll understand.Bremont ALT1-Z/DGAt Baselworld this year i had the chance to meet both men behind Bremont Watches and see the entire collection. And now i could fully relate to my friend’s immense enthusiasm! The finish, the details… impressive, yet all so subtle. Very British in fact… Ad - Scroll to continue with article Nick and Giles English started the Bremon

Not every dive watch is the usual tool watch that you’ll easily take for a plunge in one of the world’s oceans. Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar 2020 Hands-On
Earlier this year, during the digital presentation of Watches & Wonders, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a refreshed take on its Master Control collection. Among the four watches representing the updated 2020 design features is the Master Control Chronograph Calendar, a captivating combination of complications that immediately caught our eye. Equipped with a column-wheel chronograph and triple calendar display with moon phases, the Master Control Chronograph Calendar marks the first time JLC concocts this mix of complications. With its refined whiff of the 1950s without being a vintage throwback, this beautiful Master Control Chronograph Calendar is fitted with a new automatic in-house movement. Let's take a closer look at this compelling combo of complications.Master ControlIntroduced in 1992, the defining spirit of the Master Control collection is the combination of technical rigour with stylistic restraint drawing on inspiration from classic round timepieces made by JLC in the 1950s.
