First Look: The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon
From the brand with the most explosive named collection in watch history comes the loud, eye-popping Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon. Upholding the brand’s preference for fusing disparate materials on board its bold, shaped cases, Hublot offered Chinese artist Chen Fenwan the Spirit of Big Bang as a blank canvas to exercise her creativity. Using the millenary Chinese art form of paper cutting, Chen Fenwan’s original paper design has been interpreted on the multi-layered dial and snaking marquetry bracelet that come to life with the dynamic forms of the dragon. In the Chinese Zodiac, 2024 marks the Year of the Dragon; to be precise, the Year of the Wood Dragon. Another difference with Western dragons is the more snake-like contours of Eastern dragons’ bodies, known as lo
The 2020 Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Collection
Introduced in 1992, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Collection has always been the classic model of the brand, with a focus on technical rigour, certification and visual restraint. Its name comes from the fact that it was the first of Jaeger-LeCoultre's collections to benefit from its pioneering ‘1000 Hours Control’ certification. In constant evolution since its launch, today the Maison unveils its four proposals for 2020. So, let’s take a look at the 2020 Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Collection. This new Master Control Collection has to be seen as a subtle evolution, a modernisation of the range with a casual twist, rather than a complete overhaul. As many of you know, its name comes from JLC’s own ‘1000 Hours Control’ certification, a series of tests on the cased-up watch (not just its movement) to guarantee its perfect execution and its precision. It is one of the most stringent testing protocols in the industry today and every model in this
Panerai 2014 Chrono Collection Teaser Video - Monochrome Watches
With SIHH fast approaching, Panerai has released a teaser video for its 2014 Chrono Collection. ?Though we get a quick glimpse of the caseback, what is most intriguing is the day/date graphic for the beginning of SIHH, January 20. ?Does this mean that the new 2014 Chrono Collection will feature a day/date complication? ?If so, this complication would mean a ?departure from previous models and makes this video quite the teaser.A date complication fits easily on the tri-compax dial of the Luminor Chrono Daylight, but if a day/date is coming, will this mean a bi-compax dial? ?Are we going to see the?Panerai OP XII calibre, which is a modular chronograph calibre with a Valjoux 7753 base movement, or will we see a new in-house movement? ?Hand wound like the P.2006? ?Maybe an automatic like the P.9100 with flyback? ?Given that the video names a collection, meaning more than one chronograph, our interest is piqued to see a range of watches. ?Stay tuned.
