Luxury Watches |
The true Pilot's 7166 wrist watch comes from the IWC by the name of Pilot's automatic for men. This particular timepiece provides protection against magnetic fields or a drop in air pressure. For over eighty years air pilots have been adorning this beautiful and sleek piece of jewelry for keeping track of time when they are high up in the clouds. The milky white dial comes to life with the presence of dark black Arabic digits as hour markers and luminescent hour and minute hands. The elegant and chic timepiece is a perfect little accessory for being up in the cloud with the perfect blend of blue and white.

Hands-On - Cartier Drive de Cartier Extra Flat in Steel (Specs & Price)
In 2016, Cartier, the master of beautifully shaped cases, introduced a stylish dress watch for men; the Cartier Drive. Offered in gold or steel, it was an instant hit. Hot on the heels of this initial success, came the Drive Extra Flat in 2017, an even more refined and attractive dress watch that really turned our heads. Unlike the earlier Drive models, however, this beauty was only available in precious metals and, consequently, came with a rather hefty price tag. This year, however, we are pleased to say that Cartier has introduced the Drive Extra Flat in steel, and it is quite an attractive package at that.In the highly competitive world of ultra-thin watches - think the insane 2mm Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept or the Bulgari Octo Finissimo - the Cartier Drive Extra Flat appears comparatively thick at 6.6mm. On the wrist, however, it is superb. Perfectly proportioned with the 38mm high by 39mm wide case, with just enough weight that you know it's there without being intrusive
News: IWC Ceralume, The First Fully Luminous Ceramic Watch
The use of luminescent materials on watches is far from new… Soon after the discovery of radium and its properties (and dangers…) by Marie and Pierre Curie in 1898, watch dials – markers, numerals and hands – have been coated with radium and then different substances (tritium, Super-LumiNova) to produce light in the dark. Fully luminous watch dials are a far more recent trend, and fully luminous watch cases are still a rarity that we only covered twice in this magazine – with Bell & Ross and Tockr. IWC, which has already shown its appeal for lume, now unveils Ceralume, a proprietary luminous ceramic technology and the first fully luminous ceramic watch… But don’t get crazy too soon, it is still a concept and isn’t commercialized. While the idea of a fully luminous watch case isn’t new, the difference with IWC is that the brand’s engineering division XPL has developed an unprecedented luminous ceramic compound – Bell &
Video Review Omega Speedmaster Super Racing and Spirate System
A tiny device that makes a massive change… This is how Omega teased its latest technical development, and the watch to house it. The technical achievement in question has a name, it’s the Spirate System. The watch to feature it too, it’s the Omega Speedmaster Super Racing. And we introduced both to you in an article last week, with quite some details. However, this new device that allows ultra-fine tuning of the rate of the watch isn’t really simple to understand. The result and the way to use the Spirate System in real life, for the watchmakers, is extremely efficient. There is true watchmaking science behind it, however. And in this respect, a video will always be more precise than static images to understand such technical topics. Hence why we decided to bring you all the details about the Speedmaster Super Racing and the Spirate System in a video that you can look at right here, on top of this article.?What is the Spirate system…? It is a new technical
Introducing the Montblanc Homage to Nicolas Rieussec II Limited Edition (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
When you think about the Montblanc Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph, you can easily call it the most Montblanc of the Montblanc watches. The rest of the collection may have a lot of horological interest (see the recently revealed?Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum?or the splendid?Meisterstuck Heritage Pulsograph with Minerva Monopusher Chronograph – and we’re not even talking about the high-end Villeret watches) but the Rieussec Chronograph is properly defining the actual Montblanc collection. It can be seen as a classic, close to be an iconic timepiece. After two Homage limited edition (here and here),?let us introduce you the?Montblanc Homage to Nicolas Rieussec II Limited Edition. What is the Montblanc Nicolas?Rieussec? To tell the truth, it is quite a unique watch and mainly a superb price / quality / pleasure ratio. What you’ll get is an in-house monopusher chronograph with column wheel and vertical clutch, a second time-zone, a day / night indicator, an off-centered h
Introducing Roger Dubuis Excalibur Liu Wei Monotourbillon (Price)
The manufacture Roger Dubuis has gone a long way before settling to build the “future of hyper-horology.” The brand's vision of this future is a radical one. It is mechanically complex, flamboyant, excessive and expensive, so out of reach for the general population. Still, Roger Dubuis and its Excalibur watches remain a favourite for sheer creativity and rebel spirit paired with engaging, yet sometimes crazy, engineering solutions. Take Quatuor watches for an example. Or this new artistic collaboration, the Excalibur Liu Wei Monotourbillon.Roger Dubuis provided a canvas to welcome the reproduction of Liu Wei's original work and created inside the walls of the Geneva manufacture painting atelier. The work by this contemporary Chinese artist is said to reinterpret “the astral signature of the iconic Excalibur MT.” So it is the Excalibur MT that was “recrafted and reshaped” last year, which allowed for the artist's expression. “Art is about seeing
