A pilot timezone chronograph design by the IWC's 2950 is one of the first timepieces by the brand in which the time zone can be changed by rotating the bezel. The rotating bezel houses the names of twenty-two cities, all from countries located at different parts of the world. The inner rotating bezel along with the dial base and the leather strap remains black in color, whereas, the outer bezel is bright silver. With the power reserve of sixty-eight hours, the timepiece is a true definition of an all in one wristwatch. A perfect collectible for those who travel a lot for work or for pleasure, now you are free from the hassle of setting time again and again as per the time zone ¨C a simple rotation does it all for you.

Bulgari Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Limited Edition
The launch of the Bulgari Aluminio in 1998 created quite a stir. Its unusual combination of black rubber and lightweight aluminium resulted in an unconventional but highly attractive, eye-catching sports watch with a slick Italian soul. In 2020, Bulgari staged a much-anticipated comeback of the Aluminium with automatic movements and an increased water-resistance of 100 metres in time-and-date, chronograph and GMT models. This summer, Bulgari revisits its GMT Aluminium in a limited edition decked out in the colours of Italy's majestic Amerigo Vespucci training ship.Amerigo and AmericaAmerica is named after Amerigo Vespucci (1451-1512), the Florentine explorer and navigator who proposed a revolutionary theory that the lands Christopher Columbus reached in 1492 were part of a separate continent from Asia. The first use of the name America (a Latinised version of Amerigo) appeared on a 1507 map by German cartographer Martin Waldseemuller, depicting the new continent, which incorporated vit
In-Depth - A Guide to the Depth Gauge Watches
If scuba diving is a popular recreational sport, it is a dangerous activity that needs to be properly prepared and monitored. If a diver ascends too quickly, this can lead to decompression illness that can be painful and life-threatening. As depth increases the physiological effects become greater. A reliable dive watch and a depth gauge are essential pieces of diving gear designed to monitor depth and track the duration of an underwater adventure. Both variables are needed to use decompression tables. Traditionally, divers used a dive watch and a depth gauge to calculate decompression time at given depths. Although many divers today choose to dive with a computer, some still use a mechanical depth gauge, even if only as backup. The 1960s Favre Leuba Bathy 160 was one of the first wristwatches to incorporate a mechanical depth gauge. It could register depths of up to 160 feetA handful of manufacturers have developed watches incorporating a mechanical depth gauge, starting with Favre-Leu
Interview - Peter Speake-Marin on Making Watches, Developing Movements and his Latest Venture, the Naked Watchmaker
I can clearly remember my very first Baselworld and meeting Peter Speake-Marin. I didn’t know the “industry” as well as I know it today and I had no real conception of the entire industry and where Peter fit in. Today, some ten years later, I’m still in touch with Peter and I feel honoured to call him a friend. Over this past decade, I’ve followed Peter’s wanderings through the industry, and since Peter recently started a new venture (the Naked Watchmaker) I wanted to give you an overview of who Mr?Peter Speake-Marin actually is. Soon, we’ll focus on him deconstructing movements, but first, an interview with the man himself.MONO: Peter, can you tell us about your background in the industry. What Makes The Seiko Prospex Divers "Turtle" and "Samurai" Such Cool Pieces?
When it comes to watches, we can sometimes be a bit posh at MONOCHROME – or, put more elegantly, we can be quite selective and have a soft spot for anything high-end. We love watchmaking in its purest form with complex mechanisms and Haute Horlogerie decoration. We can’t help it. But… We love watches in general and we also genuinely enjoy well-executed accessible watches. And in this field, Seiko with the Prospex collection is certainly among the best contenders. Think “Turtle” and “Samurai”, think “PADI” editions, think cool diver’s watches that retail for less than half a grand. And today I’ll give you my personal view on why all watch enthusiasts, seasoned or new to the game, fortunate or not, should really consider taking a serious look at these two, very cool watches. This article is not intended to be an in-depth review but more of an opinion piece. The New And Awesome TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox Chronograph In Gold
The buzz surrounding TAG Heuer’s celebration of the 60th anniversary of the iconic Carrera chronograph was hard to miss this year. The brand marked this significant milestone by introducing several timepieces to the collection, much to the delight of enthusiasts. Earlier in the year, we were happy to unveil the Carrera Glassbox references and the 60th Anniversary Edition Panda. Now, it’s time to introduce the captivating gold version, a timepiece that embodies the cherished features of the Carrera Glassbox while exuding style with its yellow gold case and dial. While some may question the suitability of gold for a sports watch, it’s worth remembering that winners receive gold medals. Jack Heuer designed the Carrera for race car drivers, and he had a tradition of gifting gold-cased Carreras to the fastest individuals on Earth, including Ferrari drivers and the remarkable Ronnie Peterson, a Swedish racing legend. In 1972, Jack Heuer presented Ronnie Peterson with the 18k
