First Look: The Longines Heritage Conquest Central Power Reserve
While it might not come across as a particularly high-brow mechanical complication, the power reserve indicator is extremely useful. The equivalent of a petrol gauge on a watch, a power reserve indicator lets you know how much tension is left in the mainspring or, in simple terms, how much fuel is left in the tank. One of the most unusual takes on this complication belongs to a 1959 Conquest model made by Longines. In a departure from more conventional and unobtrusive power reserve displays, Longines’ novel power reserve gauge was represented on two rotating discs smack in the centre of the dial. Capturing the elegant vintage 1950s dress watch look of the original and coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the Conquest collection, Longines releases a re-edition of its historical Central Power Reserve model. Available with grey, black or champagne-coloured dials, the handsome Heritage Conquest Central Power Reserve flaunts the fascinating dial-side indicator that lets you track t
A Visit to The Hour Glass Malmaison Boutique in Singapore - Monochrome Watches
Singapore has a host of attractions to lure business and leisure travelers. Boasting a population that is virtually 100% watch enthusiasts, the city-state can claim a boutique that takes luxury living to the next level!?Over the Chinese New Year's holiday I was in Singapore with my family. Introducing: Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A by Samuel Ross
As the first brand to espouse the concept of fusing disparate materials like gold and rubber, Hublot has taken “fusion” to the next level, reworking some of its icons with top-tier contemporary artists like Richard Orlinski, Maxime-Plescia-Buchi (aka Sang Bleu), Shepard Fairey and Murakami. The latest collaboration has been percolating in the lab for three years and responds to a design by Samuel Ross, the multi-talented British designer, creative director and artist. Taking the Big Bang Tourbillon as a base, Samuel Ross has unleashed his creative juices to produce a sculptural watch that mimics certain geometric patterns found in Nature and carved in lightweight titanium. It's hard to pigeonhole Dr Samuel Ross, but for starters, the title in his name corresponds to a doctorate in art, not medicine. Born in Brixton, London, Ross' artistic domain encompasses painting, sculpture, furniture and industrial design, and fashion. Founder of A-Cold-Wall and SR_A, his design language

Enjoy!Thornton HundredThe company Thornton Hundred Motorcycles was founded by Jody Millhouse and is based in Castlethorpe, Milton Keynes, in the United Kingdom, close to the Silverstone race track and the Formula 1 teams of Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-AMG. Jody was just 20 years old when he started with Thornton Hundred, a name that refers to the village where he lived and grew up (Thornton) and to the 100mph
