One of Jaeger LeCoultre undisputed icons, the Jaeger LeCoultre is a sturdy looking Geophysic universal timepiece. Other than the continents and oceans displayed on the blue lacquer, the rest of the dial remains pretty straight forward. Introduced in 2015, the universal wrist watch is a round wristwatch with simple lines. With an open back, the dial remains protected by sapphire crystal glass. The timepiece features a power reserve of approximately forty hours. The map on the dial is like an invitation to travel the world or can make you feel that the world is at your feet.

The Collector's Series - Joseph McKenzie and his Girard Perregaux WWTC Chronograph World Timer - Monochrome Watches
This week on the Collector’s Series allowed me to go hands on with personal favourite watch of mine. It's a world timer and it comes from one of the most underrated (in my opinion) manufactures out there.?Joseph McKenzie is a business owner, watch collector and friend. He runs Xupes.com with his Father in the UK. A family run, online luxury business that cover fine watches, jewellery, handbags, investment wine and art. We have shared watch stories for many years and it felt right to ask him why he chose the Girard Perregaux WWTC.When did you first get into watches?I’ve always liked nice things. My wife brought me my first Hugo Boss watch when?I was 16 when we started seeing?each other. Back then, I?couldn't stop looking at it and enjoyed wearing it every day for a couple of years until?I upgraded to a Jaeger-LeCoultre.?I’ve always been intrigued by mechanics and the way things work.?I used to repair gearbox's on airsoft guns as a teenager (my first little business), s
Intoducing: Andersen Geneve Jumping Hours Black Jade Stone
Master watchmaker Svend Andersen has been a renowned figure on the independent watchmaking scene since 1980. The Danish watchmaker's ingenious and original approach to complications, including his sophisticated calendar watches and world timers, has captivated collectors and top-tier watch brands for years. To celebrate his 40th anniversary in watchmaking in 2020, Svend Andersen produced a stunning edition of his famous Jumping Hours complication in platinum with a blue guilloche dial. Four years later, the Jumping Hours returns with a hyper-sleek, black jade stone dial.In 1995, Svend Andersen was commissioned by a client to create a bespoke piece with jumping hours combined with a day/night display and minute repeater. After seeing the unique piece, Cartier requested the complication for its Pasha Jour et Nuit in 1988. Andersen Geneve's 40th Anniversary Jumping Hours eliminated the day/night function and, inspired by the layout of jumping hour pocket watches, placed the hour window at
Phillips Breaks Records with the First Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-018 Tiffany Sold for $6.5 Million - Monochrome Watches
If you’re a recurring reader of MONOCHROME or simply if you’re a watch enthusiast, you can’t have missed the piece of news that dropped last Monday. Indeed, Patek Philippe and its long-time retail partner Tiffany (now owned by LVMH… hence the logo on the back) released a highly discussed edition of the Nautilus 5711 with a Tiffany-Blue dial. Launched for the 170th anniversary of the NY-based jeweller, the watch will be produced in 170 pieces and is, without a doubt, the most sought-after timepiece of the hour. And you doubt it, the first of the models has just been auctioned by Phillips for a charity cause and it reached an INSANE price of USD 6,503,500 (with fees) making it by far the record for a Nautilus 5711.Besides the rather questionable colour of the dial – which certainly makes sense for Tiffany but isn’t liked by all – the most debated element of this watch actually had to do with previous statements and the olive green model. Indeed,
The Collector's Series - The "Cooler than ice-cream" Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726 of Kristian - Monochrome Watches
When I'm speaking to a collector and you glance down to see their watch proudly sports the scuffs and scratches of daily wear, it gently warms the soul. Not only do you know that the owner, more often than not, chooses that watch, but you know it has a story associated with it. As a watch geek, your mission is to try to extract those stories. In many cases, the owner generally does not require much persuasion to give you full brief. This couldn’t have been more true than when I sat down with our old friend Kristian Haagen to discuss his Nautilus 5726. A Genta classic and his current favourite watch. On a leather strap, the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726 offers a different look to many Nautilus out there. This week Kristian proudly showed us his beaten up Nautilus, what he thinks of Ed Sheeran wearing his watch (well, one like it) and why he became so fond of it.When and where did you buy it Kristian?? SIHH 2019 - Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpetuel
In a bold move that underscores its technical abilities, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveils a grande complication watch featuring a staggering combination of complications: a multi-axis tourbillon driven by a remontoir d'egalite, a minute repeater with Westminster chimes, a perpetual calendar and more. Meet the new (and superb) Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpetuel - a.k.a The Gyrotourbillon 5.Over the past few year, Jaeger-LeCoultre had become very quiet on the ultra-complex watch scene? - at least quieter than during the flamboyant early 2000s period. Well, this is over much to our delight, as few names in the world of Haute Horlogerie are capable of creating watches such as the new Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpetuel.
