Luxury Watches |
If you want a watch that is modern yet classy and perfectly captures your style aesthetic, then this piece by Jaeger LeCoultre is a great choice for you. The silver dial with stick/dot index type and Dauphine-style hands set the stage beautifully for two classic complications; power reserve indication and pointer type date display. The open sapphire crystal case back shows the automatic 938 caliber, which is quite mesmerizing. The case is made using stainless steel with a 39 mm diameter.

Industry Richemont Confirms Sales Growth in Q4 2021
Following the announcement a few months ago of its strong performance over the 6 first months of its fiscal year, Richemont today released its sales figures for the third quarter ended 31 December 2021 – remember that Richemont closes its books on 31 March – and once again confirms the trend seen over the past year, with recovery of sales in mind following the massive drop due to the pandemic. With sales up?by 32% at constant exchange rates compared to the same period last year, and?third-quarter sales up by 38% compared to 2019, it even surpasses the pre-pandemic levels (also driven by the integration of new businesses, however).?Overall, all business areas and all regions show double-digit sales growth, with the strongest performance from the Americas and Europe, rebalancing regional sales mix. Indeed, in Europe sales are up by 42% at constant exchange rate compared to the same period last year, and up by 12% compared to numbers of pre-pandemic. Europe this become the sec
First Look: The Chopard Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon Now in Ice Blue
The Alpine Eagle draws inspiration from the 1980s St. Moritz series, Chopard's take on the then-trending luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet¡ªa trend that has regained momentum. The Chopard Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon joined the collection in 2022, following the introduction of the chronograph and high-frequency models. While there's always room to discuss influences and debate whether a tourbillon belongs in a sports watch, one thing is clear: the Alpine Eagle is making its mark, and the Flying Tourbillon fits right in.The latest 2025 Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon remains largely unchanged from its 2022 debut, with the only noticeable update being the dial colour. This new version features a Rh?ne Blue dial, a lighter shade than the original Aletsch Blue. The 41mm case, crafted from Lucent Steel ¡ª Chopard's proprietary alloy ¡ª maintains its finishes, shape, 8mm slim profile, 100m water resistance, and sapphire crystals on both the front and back. Baume & Mercier Clifton 8-Day Power Reserve (specs and price) - Monochrome-Watches
Another novelty from Watch &?Wonders 2014. And a pretty interesting one too. To celebrate its 185th anniversary, Baume & Mercier will please the collectors with a refined and elegant watch. You’ll argue that the brand is already used to create such watches. Yes, it is true. But this one plays?into another mechanical level, as it comes with a large, complicated IWC movement. Here is the Baume & Mercier Clifton 8-Day Power Reserve. The Clifton can be seen as the flagship timepiece of the brand. We recently reviewed the Retrograde Date Edition and we’ve been quite impressed by the quality of the package delivered. It is clearly?not a passionate’s or collector’s watch, but it is a solid choice as a refined daily beater. However, into the collection, some of the watches are playing into another category: more refined, more complicated and more collectible. The first example was the?Baume & Mercier Clifton 1830. No more ETA /?Soprod movement and stainle
Best Of 2019 - Our Top 5 Dive Watches / Buying Guide
As 2019 is coming to an end, this is the perfect moment of the year to look back at what were the best models introduced. After a look at our 5 favourite chronograph watches (well, 6 in fact…), it is now time to look at what certainly is the most prolific category these days, with hundreds of new models/editions launched. And with more than 80 new dive watches covered here, on MONOCHROME, for 2019 alone, the selection wasn’t that simple… But here it is, our “best of 2019” guide for dive watches.Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Barakuda Re-EditionOne of the comments in our review stated “the strawberries-and-cream Fifty Fathoms” which is both kind of cool and true… So why this special edition of the Fifty Fathoms? Well, first of all, the FF is one of the most iconic dive watches ever: this model is the reinterpretation of a rare 1960s watch delivered to the German Bundesmarine via Barakuda - a company specialising in the production and marketing of
Bremont Wright Flyer - The story of a bad communication with its 'in-house' movement - Monochrome-Watches
“Learn from your mistakes” – and from those made by your competitors –?should have been in Bremont’s handbook. However it wasn’t. Remerber in 2009, TAG Heuer’s Calibre 1887?created?huge discussions after its release. What TAG Heuer claimed to be an in-house movement was in fact based on a Seiko ebauche, that was modified by TAG Heuer. No big deal in terms of product or quality (lots of brands use externally sourced movements) but a massive loss of credibility and bad communication. You thought the lesson was imprinted in every brand’s mind. Wrong! Bremont made?the same mistake with its new Wright Flyer Limited Edition. – UPDATED WITH FORMAL STATEMENT FROM BREMONT –The Bremont Wright FlyerBremont is a UK-based watch brand specialized in chronometers inspired by aviation. If you’ve been reading Monochrome for a longer time, you would have seen our coverage of their chronometers and the review we did of the Supermarine 500.
