For all the ladies out there, Jaeger LeCoultre's 10718 Rendez-Vous Automatic timepiece has been designed especially for you. The serene blue theme remains dominant throughout the timepiece; with the dial base to the leather strap. Almost all the setting from the Rendez-Vous line stays same, except for one simple twist (that is the signature of the Rendez-Vous collection). Going a step further and instead of telling the date of the month the small semicircular aperture tells the wearer whether it is day or night time. The small aperture shows a small silver blazing sun during the day and a calm and serene silver moon during the night.

Introducing the AP Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 26730
If you were to ask anyone to describe a typical Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, you would most likely hear elements like the octagonal case/bezel, integrated bracelet, and a blue Tapisserie dial. And they’d be right, of course, but the APRO can be much more than that. Signified as the granddaddy of the luxury sports watch, penned by industry legend Gerald Genta, the Royal Oak is one of the most popular watches ever made. Over time, many iterations have come and gone, but every now and then Audemars Piguet manages to change it up to such an extent it feels fresh and exciting all over again. Such is the case with two new and quietly launched versions of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 26730, in white or rose gold with dimple dials. We’ve seen it numerous times over the past year; watch brands not communicating on new releases, silently updating the collection on the website, and calling it a day. It happened with the Omega CK 859 for instance, but also w
Lung Lung and her Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Carolina Bucci Limited Edition - Monochrome Watches
It’s not often that a woman is the interviewee in our Collector’s Series, but today Lung Lung Thun is star of the show!?Lung Lung Thun is a 31-year-old securities broker with her own business, working in Hong Kong and Singapore. When she walked past an Audemars Piguet Boutique in Singapore in 2010, looking for her next watch after coming to terms with the fact that the Chanel J12 she had just purchased just didn't suit her at all, she knew it had to be a Royal Oak. Lung Lung is pretty active on Instagram (@lunglungthun) and judging by her posts she’s a proper watch enthusiast. Now let’s talk about that super cool frosted AP Royal Oak of hers!Photo by Anthony KwanFrank, MONOCHROME Watches – How did you personally got to know Audemars Piguet? Do you remember when this was?Lung Lung Thun: I remember it very clearly! 2010. I was walking passed an AP boutique in Singapore. I was looking for my next watch after coming to terms with the fact the J12 I had purchas
Baselworld 2019 - Tudor Black Bay Chrono S&G 79363N (Hands-On, Specs & Price)
When Tudor first introduced its Black Bay Chrono model in 2017, there was a hullabaloo about incorporating chronograph functions on board a 200m water-resistant vintage-inspired dive watch. A diver without a rotating bezel replaced by a fixed tachymeter scale for the chronograph functions? For many, the combination of functions was unwarranted but over time, the initial animosity was replaced by enthusiasm. For 2019, the Black Bay Chrono is back in a 41mm bold two-tone steel and gold model with a host of bracelet and strap choices. The Midas TouchThe steel and gold case is by no means a novelty; Frank reviewed the Black Bay S&G model two years ago and predicted the unexpected return to two-tone case combinations. Following suit, the 41mm steel case of the new Black Bay Chrono S&G model is spruced up with yellow gold pushers (screwed to ensure the 200m water-resistance) along with a fixed (non-rotating) bezel in yellow gold with a black anodised aluminium insert for the tachymetr
Christmas Buying Guide - 5 Best Dive / Sports Watches of 2016
Today, our readers on the other side of the Atlantic are celebrating Thanksgiving, and while this day doesn’t make a lot of sense for those in Old Europe or Asia, it however opens the?festive?season. And who says festive season says Christmas and our usual buying guides – and also an overview of the best watches we’ve seen this year. After long debates and fights at?the Monochrome-Watches headquarters (not literally, no worries), here are the?5 Best Dive / Sports Watches of 2016, for all budgets and tastes.Seiko PADI Turtle (or?Prospex SRPA21)Why this?Seiko Prospex SRPA21 PADI Turtle? Well, let me be somehow materialistic here and allow me to talk straight about money, but what you’re looking at is a watch priced at 429 Euros / US$525. Yes, that’s cheap – and I don’t mean affordable or accessible, it is really cheap… that’s the average price of fashion-designer-China-produced-fake-Swiss-made watch you can find in the street. Interview - The Online Watch Market - Patrick Hoffmann from Watchbox Europe
Today, we continue our “Online Watch Market” series. After Chrono24 and Montredo, it is time to take a look at one of the main actors in this ultra-competitive market: WatchBox. Founded by experienced entrepreneurs and market-makers Danny Govberg (of US-based watch/jewels retailer Govberg Jewelers) and?Tay Liam Wee (Asia-based retailer Sincere Watches), WatchBox is today opening its European Offices in Switzerland. Perfect timing to talk with our long-time friend?Patrik Hoffmann (ex-CEO of a watch brand) about WatchBox Europe and the online watch market. What brought you to WatchBox Europe? My drive for innovation and being mature enough to be disruptive! I’ve known Danny Govberg, one of the co-founders of WatchBox for 20 years and when he showed me what WatchBox was about, he got my attention and I went to see the organisation in Philadelphia. Once I realised that WatchBox was not just' a watch company but a tech company, I said I wanted to be part of this. Being in t
