Hands-On - Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton and Octo LOriginale Chronograph Black Edition (Specs & Price)
The Octo is a true compendium of Bvlgari's sense of design. With its graphic shapes and pure lines, its style is powerful, modern yet elegant. Over the past few years, the Italian watchmaker turned one model into an entire men's watch collection with striking launches including the unapologetically chic Finissimo Trilogy?and its several world records - including the recently introduced thinnest automatic watch. The Octo line now welcomes two new models opting for the vigour and dynamism of black, the Octo Finissimo Skeleton Black Edition and the Octo L'Originale Chronograph Black Edition. Ad - Scroll to continue with article Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton Black EditionStarting with the sleek Octo Finissimo Skeleton, it is radically black, monochromatic and it exposes intricate mechanics which definitely sounds like something we would love here. Living up to the
Introducing the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater now in Platinum - Monochrome-Watches
During the past few weeks, there had been quite a few novelties from Vacheron Constantin, with for example, one that was quite interesting, THE most complicated watch in the world. At the 2015 Edition of Watches & Wonders, Vacheron Constantin also renew one of their long-time tradition: bespoke and unique watches, with the release of their Cabinotier collection.?Alongside these exciting novelties, there's also quite an understated and discreet one, that hides however a superb watch - that can also argue to be a technical prowess - the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater, that comes now in platinum.Everything in this watch is discretion and understatement, starting from its introduction to its actual look. Except for the target used to actuate the minute repeater mechanism on the left side of the case,?the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater Calibre 1731 is simply traditional and classical, making it impossible to imagine the superb movement
IWC Portuguese Chronograph Classic Edition Laureus - Limited Edition for Charity - Monochrome Watches
Every year IWC selects one watch from their collection, usually a new model, that will be introduced with a beautiful deep blue dial and with a closed and engraved case back. There’s a good reason for this, that goes further than just a striking blue dial. These blue dial models are ?limited editions that IWC introduces (every year) for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. This year it is the Portuguese Chronograph Classic Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” and it’s limited to 1,000 pieces.?This is the?eighth time that IWC is supporting the good work carried out across the globe by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation with a limited-edition timepiece in characteristic Laureus blue. Last year it was the Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph and in 2011 it was the very beautiful Ingenieur Automatic. At Monochrome-Watches we love the combination of high-end watchmaking and charity! We’re supporting the Polio Watch initiative and we’ve got some gr
Grand Seiko Spring Drive Snowflake Titanium SBGA211 | REVIEW
Quartz… A word that you don’t often read on MONOCHROME. I’m not afraid to say that and freely admit that we are watch snobs. We love fine mechanics and Haute Horlogerie. However, the watch that we’re about to review has a quartz regulator, but isn’t battery powered – and that already makes things slightly different. Secondly, this watch is made by Grand Seiko – and we’ve already seen that it is committed to doing things in a different (better?) way. And last but not least, this quartz crystal is part of a hybrid movement, mixing old-school mechanics and modernity. This watch is the?Grand Seiko Spring Drive Snowflake SBGA211 and no, we’re not afraid to review it in this “online magazine dedicated to fine watches”.?I recall that following his visit to the Seiko manufacture, our founder Frank Geelen came to the conclusion that: “Quartz CAN be high-end”. A concept that will be important to this article because, a
Pellikaan Timing Limited Edition FC Utrecht - Monochrome Watches
This is the first time a limited edition watch has been made especially for a Dutch soccer team and it’s made by a Dutch watch brand. Pellikaan Timing created the 2011 limited edition of 25?pieces for FC Utrecht and it’s a pretty cool watch!?See for yourself… the Pellikaan Timing LE 2011 for FC Utrecht. After Pellikaan Timing donated a Flying Dutchman watch to a charity auction held by Dutch soccer team FC Utrecht in 2010, responses where very enthusiastic. So enthusiastic that the idea to create a limited edition for FC Utrecht took shape and here you can see the result. Ad - Scroll to continue with article The FC Utrecht staff gave number 1/25 as a present to the club’s president who was leaving.?Number 2/25 was (again) donated by Pellikaan Timing to FC Utrecht’s yearly ?charity and that meant € 4,000 Euro for a good cause.
