Monochrome's Top 10 Best Watches of the Year 2012 - Monochrome Watches
In previous years I tried to nominate my personal choice of best watches in several price categories. Since Monochrome usually covers watches above 10k, it was an unfair competition in that highest segment of the market, so this year I’ll refrain from that approach.?What I’ll do is go through the best and/or most desirable watches and I’ll motivate my choice. Of course everything boils down to a matter of taste, however it is also very important to be able to see through the marketing stories and be able to separate?the good from the bad. In no particular order I’ll give you my Top 10 Best Watches of 2012.Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph ref. 5980/1a Ad - Scroll to continue with article Earlier this year Patek Philippe launched a white dial version for several models of the extremely popular Nautilus collection. I’ve always liked
Watches and Formula 1 - Episode 4 - TAG Heuer & Red Bull
Let's be honest, this past season of Formula 1 was not the most exciting between the usual suspects up front, just like the last three seasons have basically seen one team dominate the whole year. The battle within that team however was particularly exciting, right down to the final meters of the final lap of the final race. Amidst all that internal drama however a few teams and driver's still managed to steal the absolute show! The talk of the town and the team and driver on everyone's mind: Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen! This young Dutchman surprised everyone by pulling off a seemingly impossible achievement; becoming the youngest-ever Grand Prix winner. Along with his teammate, he was the only driver outside of Mercedes this season to clinch a victory, doing things on the track that no one has ever seen before! All of that is here to remind us about the partnership that goes along: TAG Heuer and Red Bull Racing - and the long history of Heuer into F1 timekeeping.Personal opinio

Only Watch 2015 - Unique Zenith El Primero Striking 10th Lightweight Tribute to the Rolling Stones - Monochrome-Watches
Apart from the crazy complicated creations offered for Only Watch 2015 – like the unique Patek Philippe 5016 (with a minute repeater, a tourbillon and a QP) or the music machine by Ulysse Nardin – this charity auction held by Phillips Watches on November 7th, 2015 will also show the opportunity to bet on more?affordable?but iconic watches – but of course, in unique editions. Tudor will come with a one-of-a-kind Black Bay and now Zenith introduces its unique edition of the legendary El Primero. Here is the?Zenith El Primero Striking 10th Lightweight Tribute to the Rolling Stones for Only Watch 2015.When we say legendary, it’s with no doubt what the Zenith El Primero is – whatever the edition. In fact, it’s not really the watch itself that is an icon but more the movement that has to be praised, as this caliber was in 1969 part of the world’s first automatic chronographs?triad?(together with the Heuer Calibre 11 and the Seiko 6139). However, the
Oris 57th Reno Air Races Limited Edition (Specs & Price)
Oris is proving to be one of the most prolific watch brands in terms of novelties during this complicated year. Despite the cancellation of the Reno Air Races, Oris ploughs on with the release of its 57th Reno Air Races Limited Edition, a grey PVD-coated Big Crown ProPilot model, now with GMT functionality and pointer date. Let’s have a closer look.Aviation linksOris has been associated with the world of aviation practically since the inception of the brand. The company's first pilot's pocket watch appeared in the early 1910s followed by a pilot's wristwatch in 1917 and the Big Crown pilot's watch of 1938 with its hallmark large crown designed for pilots wearing gloves. The Big Crown family is still going strong and edited in vintage- flavoured models, like this handsome bronze version. The Big Crown ProPilot collection is an offshoot of the historic model and proposes pilot watches in a more contemporary vein. As one of Oris’s key collections, it was only natural that the
