On the Road to SIHH 2015 - Monochrome-Watches
2015 is here and so are the watch fairs. From January to the end of March, our lives will be guided by novelties, photo shoots, interviews and trips to Geneva and Basel. First meeting of the year: the Geneva fair, known as the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. In order to keep you aware of everything that will be presented by the exhibiting brands, we are on the road to SIHH 2015.30,000sq meters?of exhibition space, only 12.500 guests. The brands exhibiting at the SIHH?are apart from the rest of the industry and chose not to be at Baselworld, but instead, in a dedicated show located in Geneva. Introducing: The Wildly Reflective Zenith Defy Extreme Mirror
Camouflage dials have been a big hit in the past couple of years, and we've covered several combat-ready models. Zenith pushes the camouflage concept to the extreme, giving its Defy Extreme a radical makeover with a reflective mirrored surface. Undoubtedly the boldest take on its high-performance 1/100th-of-a-second chronograph, the latest manifestation blends into its surroundings thanks to its distortion-free mirror-polished case, dial and bracelet.Zenith's Defy Extreme collection, released in 2021, is a high-testosterone brother of the Defy family, a lab rat of sorts to test out new materials on its powerful, angular case. Patek Philippe is celebrating their 175th anniversary, and Thierry Stern chose to celebrate this landmark during the entire year starting from the beginning of Baselworld 2014 to the end of Baselworld 2015. This week Patek?launched a number of limited editions, commemorative pieces, to celebrate their anniversary. Most insiders expected an even more complicated pocket watch than the calibre 89, that was created for the brand's 150th anniversary. However Patek chose for another, at least as spectacular, commemorative piece, by introducing a wrist watch with no less than 20 complications.
