Recap: The Best Calendar Watches of 2024
Talking about calendar watches is a vast topic, which can range from fairly simple mechanisms to some of the most complex movements watchmakers have invented. Indeed, this category ranges from the classic triple calendar (mechanically, an evolution of the date complication with no self-adjustment of the length of the months) to the finest version, the secular perpetual calendar, watches that can automatically adapt to the smallest oddities of our Gregorian calendar. So here is our selection of the best calendar watches of 2024, from an eccentric planetarium to a secular perpetual calendar.Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar John MayerThere are multiple reasons why we’ve selected this John Mayer x Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in this list of the best calendar watches. Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Omega name with Jubilee Watches - Special De Ville Tresor and Reborn Original Calibre 19-ligne - Monochrome Watches
125 years ago, a Swiss watch manufacture started to use its commercial name and became one of the most iconic, most sought-after names in the industry. Not a new brand per se, this watch manufacture took its name from its emblematic movement, a 19-ligne hand-wound calibre fitted in pocket watches: the Calibre Omega. As you’ve guessed, the name Omega celebrates its 125th anniversary today, and the brand has every reason to celebrate.A brand named after its emblematic movementToday marks the 125th anniversary of the name Omega but not of the manufacture?itself. Omega was established on the roots of the Louis Brandt manufacture, founded by Mr Brandt in 1848.?At that time, the business existed only as a small workshop, opened by the young watchmaker Louis Brandt in the Swiss city of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Brandt quickly gained a reputation for his precise and reliable movements.?After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons - Louis-Paul and Cesar - took over the family business.

First Look: The Subtle Upgrades of the Oris Aquis Date Collection
During Watches & Wonders 2024, Oris unveiled a new generation of its Aquis Date, the brand's best-selling dive watch. While radically altering the design of your best-selling watch dive watch could alienate your loyal customer base and create an incoherent identity, Oris has limited its intervention to subtle design tweaks. Enhancing the watch visibly and physically, these well-calibrated, almost imperceptible alterations make the Oris Aquis Date more elegant, comfortable to wear and balanced without sacrificing its performance-oriented dive watch identity.Launched in 2011, the Aquis Date was designed as a muscular, water-resistant toolwatch. Appealing to divers and landlubbers alike, the Aquis is considered a solid, contemporary, performance- and value-oriented model. Underscoring its importance in the collection, the 43.5mm version of the Aquis Date was the first model to be equipped with the brand's new automatic proprietary Calibre 400 with a five-day power reserve, anti-magnet
