Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Passion // Introducing, Specs & Price
Introduced earlier this year during the Festival Automobile International in Paris, this Laureato Absolute Passion is decked out in racing red and sleek black livery to celebrate the brand's partnership with the event. A limited edition of 50 watches, this chronograph joins the edgier, more contemporary Laureato Absolute watch sub-family distinguished by black PVD-coated titanium cases, impressive 300m water-resistance and in-house movements. Origins of the LaureatoWhen it was first introduced in 1975, the Laureato was positioned as the brand's take on the luxury sports watch, a new genre that had just hit the markets in 1972 onboard Gerald Genta's trailblazing Royal Oak for Audemars Piguet. Originally presented in a matte steel case with touches of gold, the modular design of the Laureato was distinguished by its polished gold octagonal bezel, a cushion-shaped case, an integrated bracelet with a gold stripe and a white hobnail pattern embossed on the dial. Introducing the Panerai Radiomir 1940 3-Days Automatic with Panerai's First Micro-Rotor Movement - Monochrome-Watches
Off all things we could expect, this was certainly not on our short list. Panerai just introduced their first in-house movement with a micro-rotor. The new P.4000 movement will be officially launched at the Watches & Wonders fair (yes, it’s that season again) in the 45mm large Panerai Radiomir 1940 3-Days Automatic that will be available in stainless steel (Accacio) or rose gold (Oro Rosso.) Let’s have a closer look at this ‘elegant‘ new movement from the brand that is (or was?) inseparable from its military heritage. Every mechanical movement powered by a micro-rotor is simply a bit different from any mechanical movement with a full rotor. Of course, the differences are obvious, but for collectors the micro-rotor powered movements are always a bit more special. Micro-rotor movements have the imago of being a touch more refined, they are loved for not obscuring the beauty of a movement (a full rotor does exactly that) and being more part of the entire design

This year, for the upcoming 2017 edition of Baselworld, the brand will have something simply cool, a nice, vintage-inspired and affordable automatic chronograph., with iconic roots. Here is the?Hamilton Intra-Matic 68.Chronographs have been a great part of Hamilton’s?history, especially during the 1960s and 1970s, coinciding with the Swiss ear?of the brand, once it acquired Buren and moved to Biel, and later becoming part of?SSIH (subsequently? The Swatch Group). Some great watches have been made at that time, some becoming collectible iconic, such as the?Fontainebleau (powered by the Chronomatic Calibre 11). Introducing: The White Edition of the accessible Tissot Heritage 1938 COSC
Released last year, the Tissot Heritage 1938 COSC is a watch that’s hard to not objectively find brilliant. Combining a nice retro design with modern specs and a truly fair price, it even comes equipped with a chronometer-certified movement – making it one of the most accessible Swiss chronometers on the market. This handsome, affordable vintage-styled watch was already available in two appealing editions – salmon and black-gilt – but Tissot now adds a third version to the collection, with a fresh, classic silvery-white dial and blue accents.?Before we take a closer look at this new edition of the Heritage 1938 COSC, let’s quickly come back to the topic of the chronometer. A chronometer, not to be confused with a chronograph, is a watch that has been officially tested for its precision by an independent and vetted institute. Multiple organisations have the authority to certify movements and watches, the most famous of them all being the COSC or Contr?le Of
