The TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 Aston Martin - Monochrome Watches
Last week, at the Geneva International Motor Show (where TAG also announced the Monaco Gulf Special Edition), Jean-Claude Biver (CEO of TAG Heuer and President of the LVMH Group Watches Division) and Andy Palmer (President and CEO of Aston Martin) announced that TAG Heuer has been chosen as Official Partner, Official Watch Partner and Official Connected Watch Partner of Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing. That’s a mouthful… so let’s have a look at what interests us most:?the new TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 Aston Martin.Back in the 1960’s and 1970’s Heuer, and later TAG Heuer, sponsored Ferrari and a host of individual drivers and they?were first to do so. In fact, it almost looks like Jack Heuer invented sponsoring racing, race drivers and even an Italian sports car brand. Nowadays?the collaborations and partnerships between a watch brand and a car brand, or even the entire F1 organization ( teamed up with them),?seems to be a proven concept. IWC collabo
SIHH update - IWC - Monochrome Watches
IWC releases a lot of new watches this year. An all new Aquatimer line, a new Big Ingenieur and Big Pilot, new Da Vinci and the last year released vintage collection is now available in rose gold. And finally the long awaited Deep Two.After the Deep One high-end divewatches with a mechanical depth gauge where simply not available for a long time. Panerai and Jaeger-LeCoultre both released a divewatch with a depth gauge, however the one Panerai introduced in the PAM 307 is not a mechanical depth gauge! Ad - Scroll to continue with article Last year i wrote about two IWC divewatches, the titanium Aquatimer 2000 and the Deep One. I guess IWC has created a new way to measure the depth, because the technique used in the Deep One depth gauge was probably not the best choice.Unfortunately i have no technical information about the Deep Two, except some simple specificat
Interview - Independent Watchmaker Aaron Becsei Of Bexei Watches
There’s watchmaking…. and there’s Watchmaking. To me it becomes Watchmaking with a capital when we’re talking about watchmakers who have the knowledge, the ability and the patience, to create a timepiece entirely by hand. I’m not talking about redesigning a few plates or bridges of an existing movement. Although we all love Dufour’s Simplicity (based on a JLC calibre) or Voutlainen’s Observatoire (based on a Peseux calibre), to me these watches are drop-dead gorgeous, uber-desirable, but maybe not so much watchmaking with a capital W. When talking about Watchmaking with a capital W, think along the lines of George Daniels or Roger Smith. Hand-made is key, and a movement entirely developed by the watchmaker, without ‘borrowing’ the escapement, the keyless works. Today, we’re talking with non-other than a proper independent Watchmaker. We’re talking with Aaron Becsei, the namesake of Bexei Watches. Oh… And a small PS
The Oris Aquis Date, Now in a 39.5mm Case - Monochrome Watches
Oris swims in new waters with its 39.5mm iteration of the iconic Aquis Date. A formidable underwater tool, the Aquis Date is more compact and stylish, ready to conquer smaller wrist sizes, with the same?tool attributes and the new design?introduced on the 2017 version of the 43.5mm case. The new Oris Aquis Date 39.5mm next to the existing 43.5mm versionHot on the heels of the recently launched Carl Brashear Chronograph in a bronze case, Oris presents a downsized version of its Aquis Date model. Sitting alongside the classic 43.5mm Aquis Oris models, the new, more manageable case size of 39.5mm is designed to appeal to men who probably spend more time on land than underwater. Men who want a watch that will slide comfortably under a shirt cuff without losing the macho sporty appeal of a proper dive instrument. It will also work well for men with smaller wrist sizes and even women who appreciate the rugged, masculine soul of a dive watch. The Oris Aquis Date 39.5mm with black sun-brushed di
