Hands-on - Arnold and Son UTTE Skeleton, the thinnest skeleton tourbillon (live pics & price) - Monochrome Watches
Here, at Monochrome-Watches, we always loved the?Arnold and Son UTTE (see our hands-on here) – and for several reasons. First, it is an extremely elegant watch. Second, it is complicated (long power reserve – tourbillon). Third, it is super slim. Finally, it is a real in-house watch. So, when at Baselworld, we’ve been introduced to its latest iteration, the Arnold and Son UTTE Skeleton, now with an open-worked movement, we’ve been pleasantly surprised. And the best piece of news is that it also happens to be?the thinnest skeleton tourbillon on the market. Hands-on with a world record breaker – and a very nice watch. In terms of slim watches, there’s always been a strong competition, whether we’re talking about the slimmest watch – a tittle held by Piaget (of course) with the Altiplano 900P?with its 3.65mm thickness, till the recently introduced Jaeger-LeCoultre?Master Ultra-Thin Squelette measuring only 3.60mm (a watch that also happens to
Hands-on Review: Vacheron Constantin Overseas World Time - Live Photos, Specs and Price - Monochrome Watches
There’s something about luxury sports watches. For me this category of watches -if we can call it a category- is the most versatile, useful and comfortable around, and they are probably the best every-day watches that you can find. Wear?’em under the shower, in the swimming pool or sea, they are good when playing with the kids, or when you’re working out in the gym. They even look great with suit & tie behind your desk or in the board room. From my perspective this category of watches could use some more competition, so I was happy to see Vacheron Constantin launch a completely redesigned Overseas collection earlier this year. During a recent event I had plenty?of time to see and wear the new Overseas, Overseas Chronograph and the Overseas World Time. Today we’re going to show you the latter, a comfortable worldtimer, that’s as versatile as it gets. Here’s the Vacheron Constantin Overseas World Time.Usually we include an overview on the brandR
First Look: The New Platinum Editions of the Ferdinand Berthoud Chronometre FB3 SPC
In 2015, one of the great names in 18th-century watchmaking was resurrected by Chopard's co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele. Ferdinand Berthoud (1727-1807), the Swiss horologist who emigrated to Paris in 1745 and gained fame for his marine chronometers, was granted a second lease of life. Determined to perpetuate the legacy and chronometric credentials of F. Berthoud's past glories in contemporary watchmaking language, Scheufele's niche brand has been delighting connoisseurs for a decade. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, Ferdinand Berthoud presents a limited series of its Chronometre FB3 reference in platinum with salmon-pink or black PVD-coated movements and an optional sprinkling of diamonds.Launched in 2022, the most distinctive feature of the FB3 is its rare cylindrical balance spring. Used in marine chronometers and inside a 1793 decimal pocket watch made by Ferdinand Berthoud's nephew, Louis Berthoud, one of the advantages of a cylindrical spring, explained in detail here, i
Baselworld 2015 - Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
That’s the one we (almost) predicted. We were 90% sure that Omega would come with a new edition of the Snoopy Speedmaster Professional. The one we imagined is however quite far from this new?Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award ref.?311.32.42.30.04.003. Using the iconic Speedy Pro base, it however brings not only a new dial but also several little details that will definitely create a proper?collectible edition. Before we go into what is new in this?Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award, let’s first look at what doesn’t change. The base of this limited edition (1.970 pieces) is THE classical Omega Speedmaster Professional a.k.a Moonwatch, meaning a 42mm chronograph made in both polished and brushed?stainless steel, with a 3-counter layout and using the Omega Calibre 1861. Technically speaking, Omega keeps here the nearly same (and totally superb) recipe since 1965. A Snoopy Award edition of the Speedmaster isn’t either a n
Weekly Watch Photo - Panerai PAM300 Mare Nostrum - Monochrome Watches
Maybe it’s because I just bought a Panerai or maybe it’s because I recently visited the Montblanc Manufacture in Villeret. This Weekly Watch Photo shows the Panerai PAM300 Mare Nostrum featuring a re-worked Minerva movement, originally produced in the Manufacture in Villeret.Martin Wilmsen made the?Weekly Watch Photo, which shows Panerai caliber OP XXV. This is the movement?of the immense Panerai PAM300 Mare Nostrum, that measures 52 mm in diameter. Earlier we wrote an extensive report on the different Mare Nostrum models.? Ad - Scroll to continue with article Panerai OP XXV is a hand-wound mechanical movement, measuring 12? lignes (or 28? mm).
