Luxury Watches |
A classic combination of white and black, with just a hint of eighteen-carat gold to make it a slight bit more luxurious. The Longines' 8150 elegant automatic is a unisex wrist watch. The white dial houses black Roman hour markers, and minute and hour hands. Swaying away from tradition, the minute markers are present at the inner rim of the dial. The dial's case is made out of pure eighteen-carat gold; the timepiece has a power reserve of forty-two hours, whereas the alligator leather strap is black in color. A small aperture can be seen right beside 3 o' clock to help keep track of the day of the month.

A Weekly Watch Photo that is perfect in every way.?A beautiful watch, a beautiful photo, all in monochrome colors and at the right moment. Why? Well, Audemars Piguet just announced a?special Royal Oak Jumbo to celebrate 10th anniversary of the Purists Pro watch forum. The photo below shows the ‘real deal’, the ‘real McCoy’, a watch that’s high on the wish-list of many watch collectors (including me). It is?the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo reference 5402. Ad - Scroll to continue with article These vintage Royal Oak Jumbo’s are very difficult to find and if you find one, be prepared to pay a serious price. I prefer this vintage Jumbo (ref 5402) over the newer Jumbo (ref 15202), because of the finer ‘clous-de-paris’ dial. The photo above shows the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 5402??A-Serie from a private collector (wh
Six Watches Inspired By Our Neighbouring Satellite, The Moon
The Moon, our beloved neighbouring satellite, has a huge influence on life on Earth; it slows down the rotational speed of our planet, affects the tides of our oceans and forms the foundation of our convention of time. As the Moon is an ever-present celestial body, completing one cycle around our planet in approximately 29.5 days, it’s not surprising that it turns up in many watches, whether in the shape of a moon phase indication or a more aesthetical form. The fact of the matter is that the six watches in this week’s Buying Guide all gaze up at the Moon and beyond for inspiration.?Louis Moinet cosmopolisLouis Moinet is no stranger to lunar or cosmic inspiration and often plays with the topic in its watches, most recently this Cosmopolis. Set in a rose gold Tempograph case with a domed sapphire crystal, the Cosmopolis has 12 different types of meteorites on its dial, including a piece of Moon rock. Ten meteorite specimens are spread around the dial, with an eleventh one in
Where do you like to buy your new watch? - Monochrome Watches
This weekend i’m going to pick up my dream watch in Finland. After selling quite a few of my watches to get enough funds it’s finally time. Airplane tickets and a hotel room are booked, so next week i’ll show you my new watch.Daniel Craig coming from the Omega dealerYou can buy a used watch online or even a new one. Most of my friends prefer to buy a watch at a local AD. They like to be welcomed in a luxurious atmosphere, talking to a sales representative about their ideas for a new watch, drinking a nice espresso and finally walking out the door with a new watch on the wrist and a nice bag containing the box. That’s all part of the joy of buying a new watch. Isn’t that great? How can you beat that feeling…? Well… you can buy a watch from an independent watchmaker, visit him in his workshop and buy the watch there! Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Introducing: The Oris Dat Watt Edition II In Shimmering Green
In recent years, Oris has been pushing towards a more sustainable future when it comes to watchmaking, both by reducing its own carbon footprint, but also through parthering with specifically selected organisations. These organisations are active in cleaning up beaches, preserving wildlife, protecting our oceans, lakes and rivers and so on. This is done through limited edition watches, mostly from the Aquis collection, the brand’s evergreen dive watch. In 2021, Oris presented the Dat Watt special edition watch in partnership with the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat. Now, two years on, Oris returns to the Wadden Sea and finds inspiration in its salt marshes for the Dat Watt Edition II.The Wadden Sea is located off the coast of the northern regions of the Netherlands and Germany and the western part of Denmark. It is the largest unbroken tidal flat system in the world and an extremely delicate but very important environmental area, home to thousands of species of fish, birds, insects
Talking to Sylvain Dolla, Tissot's CEO - Monochrome Watches
Tissot is one of the oldest brands in the portfolio of Swatch Group. Founded in 1853 by Charles-Felicien Tissot and his son, Charles-emile Tissot, it was acquired by Swatch Group in 1998 and positioned as a manufacturer of robust yet affordable watches with a sporting soul. Hugely benefitting from the Group’s resources, Tissot relies on its extensive archives to create appealing watches at accessible prices. In recent years we’ve seen some strong offerings, like the Heritage 1973 Chronograph, the Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80, and the smash-hit PRX Powermatic 80. All the more reason to sit down with CEO Sylvain Dolla.Sylvain Dolla, CEO of TissotXavier Markl, MONOCHROME – You took the helm at Tissot as CEO a few months ago.
