Introducing: Indie Brand Breva Geneve is back, with the new Segreto di Lario
Swiss brand Breva Geneve was founded in 2010 by Vincent Dupontreue. At one point, the brand garnered quite a bit of attention on the independent watchmaking scene with a series of original but niche complications such as a barometer, an altimeter or even a retractable speedometer! For multiple reasons, the brand unfortunately disappeared for a few years. But in 2025, the independent watchmaking brand is now resurrected by Julien Haenny – Ex-HYT, The Fine Watch Club, Anonimo, Vulcain, Jaeger-Lecoultre and TechnoMarine. And here’s what to expect from the new version of Breva Geneve, an elegant watch with an original power reserve display named the Segreto di Lario.?The first collection for the brand's second chapter and the inaugural model of this resurrection is named “Segreto di Lario” – Secret of Lake Como in Italian. If this poetic name sounds a bit cryptic, it does make sense, knowing that the name Breva itself comes from the breeze that blows over Lake
Introducing the Halda Race Pilot - Monochrome Watches
What is the ultimate racing watch? What defines a racing-timepiece? Is it a necessity to be race-inspired in design or does it have to offer usability as well? It is probable that timepieces like the Chopard Mille Miglia, or TAG Heuer Monaco come to mind. Other than perhaps a chronograph, the usability during racing is limited. Although no longer present on the FIA F1 calendar, it marked an important moment in F1 racing as it was home to the first and only win by a six-wheeled car, with Jody Schekter at the wheel of the Tyrrell P34. Furthermore, Sweden has been on the FIA World Rally Championship calendar e
In-Depth: Divers & Dive Watches, Everything You Need To Know
Going underwater exposes our bodies to an environment that is not designed for humans. Humans cannot breathe underwater like fish, cannot swim like fish and cannot seek their food like fish. We are “invading” a hostile world. In short, we are somewhere where we are not supposed to be. The dangers are countless: animals, risk of drowning, disorientation, to name but a few. The technology developed during the second half of the 20th century lets us fathom and remain in previously unreachable depths. This technology, though, has its limitations and risks. Once the diver clears all the obvious dangers, they still have to fight the invisible and life-threatening risk of decompression sickness (DCS). This leads us to the question all watch enthusiasts might have What do divers really need underwater when it comes to timekeeping instruments? How relevant a mechanical dive watch is nowadays, compared to a diving computer??This article was written by Tassos Tzanos. “Born in Pi

Since late 2019, the Monaco, the square icon of motorsport watchmaking by TAG Heuer, isn’t only one watch but a more complete collection based on two inspirations. First is the Calibre 11, a watch with strong 1970s and Steve McQueen inspiration, with an outsourced movement, the crown at 9 o’clock and a dial that recalls original models. Then there is the new Monaco Heuer 02, a more modern and classic take, which is powered by the brand’s calibre. The latter continues to expand with new dials and the addition of a stainless steel bracelet, for an even sportier attire. For several years, the Monaco collection has been built around two models. Next to it was the Calibre 12, a watch with a more modern, more classic style, thanks to its crown at 3 o’clock and radially positi
