Longines' L36974566 Conquest Automatic Chronograph 44.5mm is one of those timepieces which give off a sense of rugged and harsh essence. Those who harbor the love for the outdoors, or someone who likes to have all the functions available on their wrist will love this. The black "barleycorn" dial contrast sharply with silver minute/hour hands and Roman numerals work as hour markers. The watch further has a silver bezel and bracelet. Apart from the markers and hands, the main dial also houses three sub-dials, and a small window between 4 and 5 o' clock to keep track of the date of the month for the wearer.

Audemars Piguet Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique - Review, Price
The new Audemars Piguet Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique challenges the conventional way of reading time with just one hand for the hours and minutes. Clearly not a watch for people obsessed with chronometer-grade precision, time is meant to be read approximately, give or take a few minutes here and there. Original and bristling with unusual textures and finishes, the Millenary Philosophique sports a new automatic movement and comes in two versions: 18k pink gold with a brown dial and 18k white gold with a blue dial. Let’s have a look at this unusual and poetical timepiece.ProvenanceThe distinguishing feature of Audemars Piguet's Millenary collection is its oval-shaped case. Introduced in 1995, it originally catered for men and women alike but since 2015 only features women's models in the line-up. With its generous case size of 39.5mm, the Millenary has become something of a showcase for creativity, artisanal skills and unconventional, off-centred dials often exposing parts
Buying Guide - Highlights From The Geneva Watch Days 2020
With the cancellation of Baselworld and Watches & Wonders, the Geneva Watch Days event was one of the very few multi-brand watch events of the year. Seventeen brands? showcased their novelties between August 26 and August 29 in the “capital of luxury watchmaking”. The event was decentralised as each brand was presenting novelties in their individual showrooms. We masked up and ventured to Geneva to get a long-awaited horological fix! Here are some of our highlight watches.Ferdinand Berthoud Chronometre FB 2REFerdinand Berthoud's first-round model will be one of the watches of the year. Although the brand's focus remains the same – precision chronometry – the second Berthoud collection comes with a new case and a new calibre. The Chronometre FB 2RE picks up the shape of Berthoud marine clocks and their modular construction. It is based on a cylindrical container fitted with short, tapering lugs secured to the case by stylised bolts. Time is displayed on a tra
24 Hours of Le Mans with Chopard Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Edition - Monochrome Watches
Looking for a good weekend movie? We recommend Steve McQueen in the racing classic, Le Mans. Why? Not only for the stupendous lack of dialogue supplemented by engine roar, but also for the on-screen rivalry between McQueen's Porsche team and Ferrari. The real actors are a Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512. Porsche prototypes left the race in 1998, leaving a legacy of domination, and until this year, could only be seen at Le Mans in this movie. For the 2014, 24 hours of Le Mans race, the Porsche team reasserted themselves with the Porsche prototype 919 hybrid. Chopard commemorates Porsche's return to the race with its Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Limited Edition. We previously introduced the entire Superfast collection, and the Porsche 919 Limited Edition with its incorporation of Porsche design elements celebrates motorsport in the spirit of Le Mans. Porsche is back, and Chopard's prescient Superfast Porsche 919 may be an omen of things to come. The watch is a statement of competitive enginee
A Space Story - How a Micro-Brand Watch by Dave Sutton and an ErikasOriginals MN Strap Ended Up on the ISS - Monochrome Watches
Space exploration is a recurring topic when it comes to watches. Of course, the Omega Speedmaster a.k.a. Moonwatch is the reference when it comes to space-linked timepieces, however, it’s not the only watch that made it to space. Recently, we discovered that another watch had been launched via a resupply mission to the ISS, a custom-made pilot's watch, by Dave Sutton, worn on a Marine Nationale strap by our good friend Erika (from ErikasOriginals). Obviously, we wanted to know more about this very cool story.Dave's custom-made watch and Erika's MN strapThe watch itself is not branded or produced by one of the well-known brands. Much more interesting is the fact that the watch that was launched into space is a custom-made watch. Dave Sutton made a limited run of this watch, and it’s built with Seiko parts and some parts were supplied by friends. Dave has been as a professional pilot and professional diver (as the boating coordinator for the US research efforts in Antarctica)
Oris Artelier Calibre 111 now with Blue Dial (Specs & Price)
When Oris launched its own in-house developed and produced movement, back in 2014 (at that time the Calibre 110, without date), this sounded like an impressive step for the brand, more used to creating accessible sports watches and outsourced automatic movements. Indeed, with no-less than 10 days of power-reserve and some technically advanced features, it was quite an achievement. This hand-wound in-house Calibre is now fully integrated into the collections, and has seen several evolutions (calibre 111, 112 and 113). Today, the?Oris Artelier Calibre 111 marks a change in style, by receiving a striking blue dial. The in-house Oris Calibre 11xBack in 2014, Oris launched its first modern in-house developed and produced movements… And modern is important here, as it has to be kept in mind that Oris had been, for a long period, one of the largest manufacturers of movements in Switzerland. Up until the end of the 1970s, Oris was producing its own calibres, however, when it was launched
