Luxury Watches |
This watch combines contemporary and classic elements. The black dial with silver index markers and red accents gives off a more modern look as compared to the brushed stainless steel bracelet and fixed bezel that has a more vintage feel to it. The watch functions with a quartz movement and 41mm stainless steel case with a solid back. All in all this watch is good for any occasion giving you the best of both worlds.

A. Lange & Sohne Triple Split - The New Mightier Than Mighty Chronograph (SIHH 2018) - Monochrome Watches
Several years ago I had the pleasure of reviewing the A. Lange & Sohne Double Split and called it the uber-chrono. To be clear, this has nothing to do with its functions but is entirely due to its spectacularly beautiful movement. Of course, the Double Split is the only mechanical double split-second chronograph, so that certainly demands some respect, but the movement’s architecture and finishing show a breath-taking beauty that no watch lover can ignore. And now there’s a Triple Split! Does that mean that the uber-chrono has been surpassed? Yep, it does, and… it’s limited to only 100 pieces! The Double Split is lovingly referred to, by admirers and owners of this watch, as the Mighty Double Split. It truly is mighty in so many ways. Do keep in mind that we’re still talking about mechanics here, and we are all aware that every iPhone does the same trick. But that’s not the point. The point is that some functions can be achieved by a collection of
Watches with a different display of time - Monochrome Watches
The first pocket watches only had one hand to display time and later this changed to an hour and minute hand. There are however watches with entirely different way to display time. Jumping hours, rotating disks, moving satellites and more!Displaying time in another way than the now ‘considered normal’ two hands watch, is of all times. Moderator of the Revolution Online Cartier forum started a post about this subject. After reading the post, the first brands that came to mind were Hautlence, Ladoire, MB&F, MCT Watches and?URWERK, more or less the usual suspects if you’re a frequent reader of Monochrome. Ad - Scroll to continue with article The new MB&F HM3 Rebel (No.1 is exclusively available at?Chronopassion in Paris, if it hasn’t been sold yet), is a good example of the relatively young, innovative, exotic and very exclusive watc
Girard-Perregaux celebrates its 230th anniversary with 3 special watches
Celebrating its 230th anniversary this year, Girard-Perregaux has selected three emblematic models and given them a metiers d’art makeover with spectacular Grand Feu enamel dials and, in the case of La Esmeralda Tourbillon, a host of other artisanal techniques. Dubai Watch Week will be the stage for the unveiling of these Eternity Editions, a name that alludes to the never-fading lustre and intensity of colour produced by Grand Feu enamel.Brief BioAlthough the brand’s origins stretch back to 1791 with Jean-Fran?ois Bautte (below, left), the name Girard-Perregaux appeared in 1856 following the marriage of watchmaker Constant Girard (below, middle) and Marie Perregaux (below, right). One of the oldest Swiss watchmakers on the scene today, GP prospered during the quartz crisis by producing the world’s first quartz wristwatch vibrating at 32,768 Hz (standard frequency for quartz watches today) along with the launch of its luxury sports watch collection Laureato.
Hands-On - TAG Heuer Carrera Fragment Heuer 02 Hiroshi Fujiwara (Specs & Price)
Today, TAG Heuer announces a new partnership with one of the most influential?personalities in the world of streetwear:?Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, the face behind the brand?Fragment. While some might find a certain interest in this venture, this is clearly not what gets us excited here at MONOCHROME. However, there is something very special about this new creation… It looks just stunning. Meet the?TAG Heuer Carrera Fragment, a reasonably-sized, retro-inspired, back-to-basics Carrera powered by the in-house calibre Heuer 02 – and that is just plain cool.Today in Tokyo,?the internationally renowned Japanese streetwear designer, influencer, musician and founder of Fragment, Hiroshi Fujiwara, announced his project with TAG Heuer. Of course, as you’ve probably guessed already, this new alliance led to the creation of a watch – and Fujiwara?has designed a brand-new outfit for the Carrera, namely the?TAG Heuer Carrera Fragment. Well, as we said in the introduc
First Look: The Surprisingly Good Circula Facet
Circula might be a relatively new brand to some, as it was only revived in 2018. However, it was originally founded in 1955 by Heinz Huber, but what makes this different from most reboots is Cornelius Huber, the grandson of Heinz, who's behind the brand today. So, Circula is truly a family business and already has an extensive portfolio, but the new Facet, designed by Guy Bove, the former Creative Director of TAG Heuer, is its most mature piece to date. That certainly doesn't imply that prior models are in any way pedestrian as a bona fide super compressor diver sits in the mix of an impressive collection. Attention to detail, design sophistication and a new movement do elevate the Facet and show where Circula may be heading in the future. The stainless steel case is fairly compact at 38mm in diameter, fitting in with today's trend of smaller cases, and is primarily made up of angles/facets rather than curves. Starting with the brushed bezel, your eye is drawn to polished facets that cr
