Breaking: The IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar Wins the GPHG 2024
The 2024 edition of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve has just unveiled the grand winner of this year’s awards ceremony! Often regarded as the Oscars of Watchmaking, the GPHG stands for a celebration of all things surrounding mechanical watchmaking. A specially selected jury, which included our founder and editor-in-chief Frank Geelen, has narrowed down all the entries into multiple categories with six watches each. Out of all the entries, only one has been selected as the grand winner, receiving the coveted “Aiguille d’Or” trophy for Best of Show. In addition to that, each category winner also received an award. Last year, the stunningly complex Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Ultra-Complication Universelle, the most complicated wristwatch ever created by the brand, took the golden hand back home. This year, the jury of the GPHG 2024 rewarded astronomical precision with the IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar, the brand’s first secular calendar. And we

In the weeks before the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), which will be held in Geneva from 20-24 January, you will get to see quite some new timepieces and during the watch fair, it will be even more. Like the Frankfurt Motor Show or the Geneva Motor Show are for cars, the SIHH is a perfect moment for the watch industry to show their latest timepieces. One of Roger Dubuis’ newest timepieces is the Hommage Double Flying Tourbillon with a stunning hand-guilloche dial. Geneva-based watch brand Roger Dubuis, one of the sixteen brands who will be exposing at the upcoming SIHH, can be considered as one of the most extravagant brands in the watch industry. But hey, this is what makes that Roger Dubuis is still the only watch brand that is 100% Poin?on de Geneve certified. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Introducing the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 40mm Now Full Gold-Coloured
The Tissot PRX… A never-ending story, with one variation following another. The brand’s catalogue is now a collection comprising no fewer than 38 references, including quartz and automatic models, time-only or chronograph versions, in either 35mm or 40mm, on steel bracelets, leather or rubber straps. And then, there are the colours, ranging from classic black or blue to a cool ice blue dial. Until a couple of days ago, the collection comprised 37 references and a new one was just added. Using the familiar look that we discovered only two weeks ago, the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 40mm is now available in full gold-coated attire, a statement piece that uses this warm colour for its case, bracelet and dial.?While most of us will certainly picture the Tissot PRX as a full steel watch worn on a matching bracelet – this is how, according to us, the design makes the most sense – Tissot has long decided to offer variations. This includes watches with a leather or a rubber
