Weekly Watch Photo - A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Up/Down and Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar - Monochrome Watches
A. Lange & Sohne had an incredible strong year and introduced several extremely complicated timepieces, like the Grand Complication (that we showed you here) and the 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar. Besides these two complicated timepieces, they also introduced several less complicated pieces, like the 1815 Up/Down that will become a classic for this German brand. When you go through all Weekly Watch Photo posts of this year (click here) than you’ll see that the good folks of Lange understand the power of a good photo. So from time to time they set off with a few watches and a good photographer to some of the local highlights. Just a few weeks ago we showed you the 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual and the 1815 Up/Down photographed in the Horch museum (see here), today we’ll show a set of photos of the same watches, photographed in the Dresden Botanical Garden. Introducing The Miami Pink IWC Pilot Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas
Ten years… That’s how long the partnership between Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team is… And this connection has seen the creation of multiple watches, either dedicated to the world of motorsport in general, to the pilots of the team (Lewis Hamilton first and foremost), to its boss or to the team itself. The most focused watch in the lineup is, without a doubt, the Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas, with its green accents on the dial and green rubber strap. On the occasion of the upcoming Miami Grand Prix this weekend, IWC brings the heat in typical Florida-style, with a Miami Pink edition of its titanium chronograph.last year saw the introduction of the reference IW388108, a rather compact titanium pilot’s chronograph with a livery-matched green rubber strap and the same colour to be found all over the dial. Presented as the team watch, as such meant to be worn by the team's designers, aerodynamicists,
Bvlgari Bvlgari Cities Special Editions 2020 (Specs & Price)
Even if most of the buzz has been generated around the successful Octo collection – and its multiple thinness world records – there is more than just one modern icon produced by the Italian watchmaker/jeweller. Based on a model introduced in the mid-1970s, the Bvlgari Bvlgari collection perpetuates this love affair between Bvlgari and its country of origin, with a deceptively simple design that actually incorporates multiple references to Italian culture. Today, the brand launches the Bvlgari Bvlgari Cities Editions 2020, inspired by the nine cities – Rome, Tokyo, Dubai, Paris, London, Ibiza, Milan, Mexico City and New York – that have hosted Bvlgari in the past.A 1970s BackgroundThe original design of the Bvlgari Bvlgari, with its signature cylindrical case and bezel engraved with the brand’s name and Roma, was first introduced in 1975 as a limited edition gift for 100 of Bvlgari's best clients. With its unexpected combination of a yellow gold shine, a cl

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Automatic & Chronograph Black Dials (Specs & Price)
When introduced back in 2016, the redesigned Overseas was Vacheron Constantin’s answer to the highly coveted market of the luxury sports watch (a market dominated by AP and PP). First launched in blue and silver editions, later followed by warm and original brown versions, there was still one missing colour to complete the collection. Problem solved for 2018, with the introduction of the?Vacheron Constantin Overseas Automatic 4500V and Chronograph 5500V, now with black dials (and even a reversed-panda for the Chrono). If blue is the most prevalent colour on luxury sports watches (dark blue was the inaugural tone used on the precursors of this new market, the Royal Oak and the Nautilus), black is certainly another option that perfectly fits the idea of a sports watch. Elegant, discreet, contrasted and easy to match, black is sort of an inevitable choice – and usually, a “you can’t go wrong” choice too. Several options have been introduced already for the two
