The Conquest V.H.P. 41 mm is another impressive addition to Longines watches. It has a stainless steel case and bracelet with a silver carved dial. It has Arabic numerals and indices with luminescent filling. The hands have a luminescent filling in them too, which glow in the dark. It has a high water resistance of 5 bars and can withstand greater water pressure. The crystal has an anti-reflective coating, which helps in looking at the time even in bright light.

Omegas Gold Medal Olympic Timekeeping Equipment - Monochrome Watches
It's been touch and go since the outset of the pandemic, but the Tokyo 2020 Olympics finally reached the starting line on 23 July 2021, albeit a year late. Marking Omega's 29th time as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, 400 tonnes of state-of-the-art equipment, 200km of cables and optical wire, 530 timekeepers and on-site professionals have been dispatched to Tokyo. The mission is to ensure that all 11,091 athletes taking part in the 339 events in 33 sports will benefit from precision timekeeping in events that are often secured by milliseconds that the human eye cannot detect. Timing has come a long way since Omega made its first official appearance in 1932 at the Los Angeles Olympics. Capitalising on the world's attention on the Tokyo Olympics, it's a good moment to review Omega's impressive contributions to the world of timekeeping, and in the same breath, acknowledge my indebtedness to Omega's comprehensive volume dedicated to its timekeeping breakthroughs in Great Olympic M
@winewhiskywatches and his IWC Safari Big Pilot (AKA the Tribute to 5002) - Monochrome Watches
When Chris Granger-Herr, the CEO of IWC, posted a photo of himself wearing the prototype for this updated version of the original 5002-generation Big Pilot in matte titanium while on his African Safari, collectors took notice. Shortly after, IWC announced a limited edition of 100 watches, which sold out almost instantly via Instagram (despite a six-month wait for them to be built). The watch was immediately nicknamed the Safari Big Pilot, while IWC officially named it the Tribute to 5002. Today we’re talking to @winewhiskywatches about his IWC Big Pilot Tribute to 5002 ref. IW501007 AKA the “Safari” Big Pilot.?When Chris Grainger-Herr posted that picture on Instagram, I was travelling from the Netherlands to Switzerland to film one the MONOCHROME videos. So by the time I found out about this particular “Safari” Big Pilot, it was long sold out and that was that. So when I saw that @winewhiskywatches (who recently told us about his Armin Strom Resonance) own

Konstantin Chaykin Genius Temporis - more than just a single-hand watch - Specs and Price - Monochrome-Watches
Konstantin Chaykin‘s latest watch, the Genius Temporis, is filled with quite its dosage of uncommon features. In an industry ruled by?large?brands, it’s still made by an independent watchmaker. In a world where Switzerland lead the game, it’s produced in Russia. In a world where hours and minutes are indicated by two separated hands, it comes with a single hand. Oh wait, there’s more: a pusher at 2 o’clock. That’s where the?Konstantin Chaykin Genius Temporis start?to be quite interesting.Konstantin Chaykin?is not what we?call a?conventional watchmaker. First, he’s Russian. Well, we have no problem with that. We already have some Finnish or Dutch watchmakers. What is more surprising is that he’s the only one to create Haute Horlogerie watches in a country that is more known to create cheap mechanical watches with movements inspired (not to say copied) by?Swiss calibers. Regardless the old tradition of watchmaking in Russia,?Konstantin Chay
