SIHH 2014: Audemars Piguet reveals 6 updated versions of the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph (live photos) - Monochrome Watches
The Royal Oak is one of the most iconic watches in the industry. In 1972, Audemars Piguet decided to break the rules of luxury watches in presenting a steel and sports watch that was more expensive than a gold watch. The original design, by Gerald Genta, had been reinforced in 1993 when Audemars Piguet presented the so called ROO or Royal Oak Offshore, a 42mm chunky variation of the most legendary and also daring model. In 2014, the ROO chronograph receives a major update and progresses in every aspect. The big question is: how to change it without losing its iconic status? At the first glance, you'd say that Audemars Piguet didn't change anything to the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph. But you'd be wrong. AP is just applying the 's receipt. Take a look at the Submariner. In 50 years, the watch had received plenty of updates and improves. But, it remains an iconic timepiece that is more or less the same (in fact, rather more than less). It's just getting better and better with the years

The new 2014 Omega Seamaster 300 Re-edition - what it really looks like - Monochrome Watches
Remember a few days ago, Omega was teasing us with pictures that looked like a re-issue of the Seamaster 300. We've played with Photoshop and gave you our thoughts on what it could look like. Today, Omega presented a video that shows a more precise image of the future model that will be presented coming Wednesday at Baselworld 2014. And we were close to the reality!Let’s have a look at the neo-vintage Omega Seamaster 300.The video shows many details of the new watch. First, and what relieves us, is to know that it will exist in several versions, such as two-tones Steel/Gold and full steel. So lets talk details and see which details we got correct in our preview: The new SM300 will have a straight lugs case (no protection guard and symmetric design) A bracelet with mirror polished centre links and brushed external links, which looks like the bracelet of the Aqua Terra and the Speedmaster ’57. Introducing: The Bremont Terra Nova Collection of Field Watches
With a passion for aeroplanes and watches, Bremont Watch Company was founded in 2007 by the English brothers Nick and Giles. Adventure is the overriding theme at Bremont, and its rugged tool watches are designed for airborne, seaborne and land exploration. The latest collection from Bremont's Henley-on-Thames headquarters is the Terra Nova, debuting with four watches inspired by military pocket watches of the early 20th century. Bremont is now in the hands of CEO Davide Cerrato, and the Terra Nova collection he has overseen could be regarded as his trial by fire. Sharing a robust cushion-shaped case, oversized crowns, vintage details and excellent legibility, the Terra Nova debuts with a time-only model, a time-and-date, a compass bezel with power reserve and a chronograph.Shared TraitsReplacing Bremont's earlier Terra Nova collection, the new models embrace the simplicity, ruggedness, functionality, and practicality of yesteryear military field watches. MIH Ga?a Watch - Monochrome Watches
The abbreviation MIH probably doesn’t mean much to most of our readers, except to our hardcore watch enthusiasts (or WIS, which stands for Watch Idiot Savant – another horological abbreviation) who will immediately recognize the acronym. MIH stands for Musee International d’Horlogerie and during the time that Mr Ludwig Oechslin was the curator of the museum, he introduced the MIH Watch. A portion of the proceeds goes to the museum to fund special restoration projects. And now there’s a new MIH Watch called the MIH Ga?a Watch.?The first MIH Watch has been appreciated by watch collectors and enthusiasts from all over the planet. It was sort of a love child of Ludwig Oechslin, Paul Gerber and Christian Gafner. The latter designed the watch, while Oechslin created the annual calendar on top of a Valjoux 7750 chronograph and independent watchmaker Gerber rearranged the chronograph’s actuators and levers for it to become a monopusher chronograph. While that firs
