First Look: Nomos Tangente Rosegold Neomatik, The Return of the Lange Dial (Incl. Video)
The Glashutte region in the South-East of Germany is the cradle of German mechanical watchmaking. The small town is home to some of the most revered historic watchmaking houses in the industry. Nowadays, you’ll find names like A. Lange & Sohne, Moritz Grossmann and Glashutte Original, all headquartered there. But there’s one brand from this region that should be on everyone’s radar: Nomos! Founded by Roland Schwertner in 1990, shortly after the Berlin Wall came down, the brand launched its inaugural quartet of the Orion, Ludwig, Tetra and Tangente just two years later. All four models are still part of the collection today, but the Tangente has become a true icon for the brand. But one particular reference is praised among collectors and is now staging a comeback: the so-called Lange dial! This was first launched in the late 1990s and is one of the most sought-after watches by Nomos. It returns in a devilishly handsome Tangente, however, which is also a celebratio
First Look: The Salmon Dial Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tuscan Copper
The third record for thinness in the successful Octo Finissimo series?by Bulgari, the Octo Finissimo Automatic started its life in the most monochromatic and sleek attire possible – sandblasted titanium over a tone-on-tone dial, a signature look for the collection. However, since its introduction in 2017, the model has seen multiple variations of colours and materials, specifically since the introduction of the Mk2 version with its satin-brushed case and 100m water-resistance. Following our presentation earlier today of a new yellow gold edition, it’s time now to introduce the Octo Finissimo Tuscan Copper Automatic, with a colour combination that is one of our favourites. Salmon-steel for the win!Salmon dial over a steel case is a classic of the Swiss watch industry that has been around for decades. Usually the apanage of classic dress watches and vintage-inspired chronographs, it finds a spot here in the context of an edgy, ultra-thin take on the luxury sports watch, the n

And to celebrate “The Road to Milano” Omega has delved into their Olympic watchmaking archives and has come up with something rather special, and dare we say it, extremely handsome; the new Omega Seamaster 37mm Milano Cortina 2026. Here’s all about its historical lineage, and of course details on the watch itself.A “dog-leg lugs” re-edition inspired by the 1956 Seamaster XVI (Melbourne) and the 2008 Seamaster XXIX (Beijing)Before we dive into the specifics of this new and handsome vintage-looking Seam
Baume & Mercier introduce the Clifton Chronograph - Monochrome Watches
Although it’s still a few months until the 2014 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), where Baume & Mercier (among others) usuaully introduce their new models, they have just introduced a new chronograph in the Clifton collection. A very nice, elegant yet manly, balanced, contemporary chronograph. Judging on the looks and specs, I believe that it has everything to become a very popular model, that is, if the price is right. The looks are coherent with the other Clifton models, which we showed you here and here, while the Clifton 1830 is the more “deluxe edition” with a slightly more refined case design. Yet still all very much aligned, design-wise. Or as Baume & Mercier state in their press release: “An absolute concentration of power and urban chic“, a catchy line that resonates for a long time and it seems to match very well with the new Clifton Chronograph. First Look: The Kauri Regulateur Carbone, A Modern Retrograde Minute & Jumping Hour Regulator
Kauri is an independent watchmaking brand recently founded by Samuel Gillioz. This young watchmaker studied at the ecole d'Horlogerie de Geneve before gaining experience at Timelab and Vacheron Constantin in the highly respected Cabinotiers workshop. In 2019, Samuel Gillioz launched Kauri with the vision of creating something unique and original. The main specificity of his first model was its case, which combined steel and wood. The second model advances in complexity, retaining the distinctive case concept – this time with a carbon-based material – while introducing a movement featuring an in-house designed and manufactured complication, a regulator with jumping hours and retrograde minutes. Meet the Kauri Regulateur Carbone.Samuel Gillioz set up his small atelier in Plan-Les-Ouates in a building between the HQs of Vacheron Constantin, Piaget and Frederique Constant.
